When the moon on a cloud cast night
Hung above the treetops' height
You sang me of some distant past
That made my heart beat strong and fast
Now I know I'm home at last.
You offered me an eagle's wing
That to the sun I might soar and sing
And if I heard the owl's cry
Into the forest I would fly
And in its darkness find you by.
And so our love's not a simple thing
Nor our truths unwavering
But like the moon's pull on the tide
Our fingers touch, our hearts collide
I'll be a moonsbreath from your side...

you like McKennitt.
She sounds cool.
yes I do like her, she is cool; I was looking for a video of her singing the song to post here as it is heartfelt & beautiful, but I couldn't find one with nice images. :) xoxo
she does write very lovely lyrics ..
i might need to go by youtube to hear the melody too.
:)
good idea Foamie, you might like some of her other music as well; if you get a chance listen to the Mummers Dance & Penelope's song.I love this song it is very romantic. :)
well, the video is every bit as cool as the poetry. Though I had to let it run once by itself, the second time in it ran better.
Sounds familiar in my brain, though.
I'm glad you liked it, the paintings are nice aren't they, I would love to wear dresses like that, so feminine.
Yes you have probably heard the song & words before, very romantic for someone special. The other songs I have posted here are hers as well. :)
Been over to look at your painting & left a comment, been back to First Lines as well. :)
A guy at a bus stop once offered me an eagle's wing. It instantly made me suspicious. Why wasn't it still attached to the eagle?
