ALL GOOD THINGS (COME TO AN END)

All Good Things ( Come to an End) - Nelly Furtado

Honestly, what will become of me?
Dont like reality
It's way too clear to me
But really, life is dandy
We are what we must be
Missed everything daydreaming

Flames to dust
Lovers to friends
Why do all good things come to an end?
Flames to dust
Lovers to friends
Why do all good things come to an end?

Traveling, I only stop at exits
Wondering if I'll stay
Young and restless
Living this way I stress less
I want to pull away when the dream dies
The pain sets in and I dont cry
I only feel gravity and I wonder why

Flames to dust
Lovers to friends
Why do all good things come to an end?
Flames to dust
Lovers to friends
Why do all good things come to an end?

Come to an end, come to an...
Why do all good things come to an end?
Come to an end, come to an...
Why do all good things come to an end?

Well the dogs were whistling a new tune
Barking at the new moon
Hoping it would come soon
so that they could...
Dogs were whistling a new tune
Barking at the new moon
Hoping it would come soon
so that they could die...
Die...
Die...
Die...

Flames to dust
Lovers to friends
Why do all good things come to an end?
Flames to dust
Lovers to friends
Why do all good things come to an end?

Come to an end, come to an...
Why do all good things come to an end?
Come to an end, come to an...
Why do all good things come to an end?

Well the dogs were barking at the new moon
Whistling a new tune
Hoping it would come soon...
And the dogs were barking at the new moon
Whistling a new tune
Hoping it would come soon
so that they could die...

THE TWO TREES

The Two Trees - Loreena McKennitt
Words by William Butler Yeats - (1865 - 1939)
Music by Loreena McKennitt
Uilleann pipe introduction 'Cé Hé Mise Le Ulaingt' composed and performed by
Patrick Hutchinson.

Beloved, gaze in thine own heart,
The holy tree is growing there;
From joy the holy branches start.
And all the trembling flowers they bear.
The changing colours of its fruit
Have dowered the stars with merry light;
The surety of its hidden root
Has planted quiet in the night;
The shaking of its leafy head
Has given the waves their melody,
And made my lips and music wed,
Murmuring a wizard song for thee.
There the Loves a circle go,
The flaming circle of our days,
Gyring, spiring to and fro
In those great ignorant leafy ways;
Remembering all that shaken hair
And how the winged sandals dart,
Thine eyes grow full of tender care
Beloved, gaze in thine own heart.

Gaze no more in the bitter glass
The demons, with their subtle guile,
Lift up before us when they pass,
Or only gaze a little while;
For there a fatal image grows
That the stormy night receives,
Roots half hidden under snows,
Broken boughs and blackened leaves.
For all things turn to barrenness
In the dim glass the demons hold,
The glass of outer weariness,
Made when God slept in times of old.
There, through the broken branches, go
The ravens of unresting thought.
Flying, crying, to and fro,
Cruel claw and hungry throat,
Or else they stand and sniff the wind,
And shake their ragged wings; alas!
Thy tender eyes grow all unkind;
Gaze no more in the bitter glass.

Beloved, gaze in thine own heart,
The holy tree is growing there;
From joy the holy branches start,
And all the trembling branches they bear.
Remembering all that shaken hair
And how the winged sandals dart,
Thine eyes grow full of tender care
Beloved, gaze in thine own heart.

EVERYWHERE

I Wanna Be With You Everywhere - Fleetwood Mac

Another one of my favourite songs, set as a soundtrack to a video based on the romantic poem "The Highwayman" by Alfred Noyes (1880 - 1958).

LOCKET AND KEY

Locket and Key - Donna the Buffalo

And now for something completely different; yes my musical taste is diverse. I like this sweet song and the pretty location where the video was filmed. This is for someone very special to me. :-)

STREETS OF YOUR TOWN

Streets of Your Town - The Go-Betweens

The Go-Betweens were a Brisbane, Queensland rock group who formed a band and started performing in the 1980's, this particular song was recorded in 1980 on an album called '16 Lovers Lane'. I have always enjoyed this and a few of their other songs; I like this video which was produced in April, 1996. The video shows archival footage of a typical country town in the 1980's mixed with footage from a later era. The song tells a story about the fate of many country towns in Australia where people die out, the younger people move on to find work in the cities and more and more stores and services stop and sadly the towns die too.

"If the day and the night are such that you greet them with joy,
and life emits a fragrance like flowers and sweet-scented herbs
--that is your success."

Henry David Thoreau

COME THE DAWN - COME THE DAY

The light from the moon was so bright in my room this morning that it woke me. So bright in my half awake state that I put up my hand to shield my eyes and as I did bright moonbeams passed through the spaces between my fingers illuminating everything they touched. I reached over to my clock to check the time and with bleary eyes noticed that it was almost 5 am. I stretched a little, gave a yawn and got out of bed and went over to the window, the sky was a beautiful deep blue, the air was cool and fresh, the moon hanging there in the sky and to the east the blue started to colour with a hint of lavender and pink...I love this time of day.

Everything is so quiet and still, apart from the occasional bird stirring in its nest. The sky is always so blue and the moon still lingers in the sky as if it doesn't want to leave with the night sky which has left it behind. The air is fresh and still holds a slight chill and the grass is wet beneath my feet.
In this hazy half light of the morn the earth seems to hold its breath and then as the sky starts to colour with soft hues of peach and gold and the bright rays of the sun pierce through the softness, mother nature seems to let out a sigh as a new day begins.
Golden shards of light slant through the trees, warming everything with soft morning rays, everything comes to life in this golden light. The birds wake from their sleepy nests and sing their morning song; flowers strain to the warmth of the sun to dry their dampened petals, dewdrops sparkle as they are suspended on a cobweb trapeze. Amongst this unfolding beauty I have a feeling of happy anticipation and promise; a new day has dawned and all seems right with the world.

TUTTI FRUTTI SUMMER LOVE

Still on the subject of 'SWAYING', this link was recommended by my cute Swedish friend 'M'. This is just a bit of light hearted fun with some nice scenery for you guys and girls; personally I think I would give Gunther a miss but some of those other guys look pretty hot. The motor bikes, helmets and leather will appeal to all of you biker enthusiasts plus the location looks very inviting too. Have fun and enjoy. :)

SWAY FOR PUG

This dedication is for my darling Puggles, one of the loves of my life. I have been searching for just the right song for you my love and have auditioned many entertainers, from Marimba bands, which didn't quite cut it, to Mariachi bands which were far too noisy and intrusive. This song is for our moonlight dance around the courtyard of Casa de Pug. See I have even thrown in some 'eye candy' for you my sweet one, now wasn't it worth waiting for. I will meet you in the courtyard by the fountain, in the moonlight, the air heavy with the scent of exotic flowers. I will be the one with the flower in my hair, then you can make me 'sway'! :)

COYOTE CATCHES ROADRUNNER

This is just a special treat for my desert dwelling friend 'Phos', The Phosgene Kid, who is a really nice guy and handy to have around if you get lost in the desert in Arizona; he could actually save your life with his knowledge of survival skills. Hope you enjoy this Phos. :) Big Hugs!

WONDERFUL LIFE - For FOAM

Wonderful Life by Black

This song is dedicated to my new great friend 'Foamie', as I call her. She has been especially kind to me and was one of the first of my new friends to encourage me to start my own Blog. Thanks Foamie, I have never regretted it and as you told me you had hardly any visitors when you first started out, so I am blessed to have all of you great friends who visit my Blog.

Now, I knew that Foamie liked walking along beaches that's why I posted the photo of my favourite beach in Northern Ireland for her, I knew she would like it but somehow it didn't seem to be quite enough as she is a pretty special girl.
We both enjoy walking in our local areas and I think we would have a great time walking together and having a chat and a few laughs. Now I find out that she is also a Bob Marley fan and she is a hip swinging, groovy Reggae chick like me. Lol. So Foamie my dear if you like the sound of steel drums and a nice rhythm, maybe this isn't quite Reggae but I hope you will enjoy this song, it's one of my favourites.
:)

GARDEN OF WILDNESS ... For SHE / K9

In my garden of wildness
grow seeds of love

Watered by raindrops
from heaven above

Flowers so sweet of every hue
Petals of white, soft pink and blue

Bright yellow stamens
that reach for the sun

But most of all happiness
for everyone...

This poem is dedicated to She/K9 whose beautiful flowers inspired me to write about the part of my garden which is a happy place and all that grows there is random and wil

JEALOUSY & RAGE

Jealousy, the green eyed monster, a very destructive emotion. I don't know whether any of you have ever experienced this emotion but I am ashamed to say that it has crept into my thoughts just recently; I should not have let it get the better of me, I am better than this.
I have said things that are so unlike me and probably hurt the recipient and now he most likely thinks I'm a monster . I have been feeling so hurt; you put your trust in someone because you genuinely care for them and hope that they will feel the same about you. They say sweet things to you and you believe them thinking this is something really beautiful that you are sharing.

But you are so blinded by your love and emotions that you don't realise that there is someone else there as well, who is tempting your lover away from you, with her pretense of helplessness, saying all of the right things that he wants to hear, promising delights that turn him on, you don't know maybe she is more beautiful and sexy and appeals and fascinates him more. You dont stand a chance he has fallen for her charms and you know you are fighting a losing battle.

She wins in the end and he leaves you behind in a confused, broken-hearted mess, a miserable, crying shadow of whom you really are feeling betrayed trying to pick up the pieces of your life. You pour out your heart, all of the rage you have expressed, pleading dont throw what we have away ,trying to make him see things from your point of view but this has just alienated you even more, he doesn't want to listen. You are left with a feeling of exhaustion and emotional emptiness. I guess you get so much more with honey than by being truthful.

Now the preceding two paragraphs are about something that happened in the past. Yes the little 'fling 'that caused so much hurt didn't last and guess what, he wanted me back. I never stopped loving him so I thought we could try again and I would give him another chance. I didn't mention the affair again or throw it back in his face because that would have been destructive. It took me a long time to trust him again and open myself up completely to him as I was still nursing my wounds and they hadn't completely healed.

All went well for quite a few months then he did it to me again...that was it as far as I was concerned, all that hurt for nothing and then my trust being shattered once more, I felt like I had lost all of my self esteem for being such a fool. So I told myself no more and have shut myself down ever since and not let anyone else get too close.

Then just recently I met someone really nice who seemed to open up my heart again and I felt that warmth of love, but the situation is impossible and I hoping for too much have blown it by being demanding and wanting to be loved again so much, he doesn't seem to feel the way I do, so I have accused him of wanting someone else, the jealousy thing again and now I have lost once more. I think I will just dig a hole and bury myself.

And guys even though I love and admire you, sometimes you are so taken in by these women you sometimes only think with your dicks and not your brains. Sorry but I had to say it ; next time your eyes start to wander make sure you are not leaving behind the best girl you will ever have. . .

LEARNING TO FLY

LEARNING TO FLY - Tom Petty

This one is especially for my great friend M from The Mess :)

PRIVACY OR CENSORSHIP?

Hi everyone, I just want to explain why I have removed all of the images relating to my nude picture appearing in front of Boney's barn and in his dining room; there seems to be an issue over privacy and I have unwittingly caused offense. I will have to learn to keep my somewhat liberal sense of humour under control. Apparently by association it has attracted some negative comments over at First Farm and I apologise to Boney for any problems I may have caused, it wont happen again.

JUST THE WAY YOU ARE

JUST THE WAY YOU ARE - Diana Krall

Feeling a little let down this evening and lonesome and this song and its words just seemed to feel right; and besides that my cheerful new Swedish friend 'M' told me he really likes it. So I hope you all enjoy it as well. :)

FLAMBOYANT FLOWERS for NINA

No doubt you may have noticed the name Nina in my comments box. This post is for her, she is one of my 'unofficial' adopted daughters; she is the sweetest and loveliest young girl. She comes from Vietnam and now lives here with her husband. We have a lovely friendship, she misses her Mum and family so much because they are still in Vietnam; she has in some way adopted me as her Australian Mum.This jacaranda is her favourite flower, she calls it her 'flamboyant flower' and I just wanted to thank her for being such a good friend. :)
