My Own Piece of Wilderness

Nandina Domestica (Sacred Bamboo)

Leaves of Cordyline Australis and Autumn foliage on Nandina Domestica (Sacred Bamboo)

Banksia Species (either Integrifolia or Marginata)

Many native plants surrounding a Eucalyptus Haemastoma commonly known as a Scribbly Gum

Some more photos of my wilderness garden, these images are from Sunday and Tuesday, I was standing on firm ground when these were taken ... no more risks.
I was delighted to find the morning sun shining softly through the leaves of the Sacred Bamboo, they looked so beautiful in this light, they are just beginning to take on their shades of Autumn. Please enlarge all images; if you look closely in the second photo of the Banksias you can see more new brushes which have not yet fully matured... ♥

With Love In My Heart

With you in my world
The dark clouds have lifted
And sadness says farewell
With you by my side
My world fills with sunshine
Just like an eternal Spring
With love in my heart
The birds sing more sweetly
The sky is a softer blue
Even the flowers take on a new beauty
More brightness in every hue
The song of the trees
Whispers more sweetly
A scented melody of leaves
With you in my heart
All is in harmony
Everything is renewed ...

Today in my Garden

Cardamon Ginger leaves, Maidenhair Species and Clivea Leaves.

Protea, Bottlebrush with tiny white brush flowers, Dietes Bicolour

Gardenia Florida, May Bush and Autumn Crocus (Zephyranthes Candida)

A mix of green leaves
Grevillea species, Westringia Fruiticosa, Apple Gum and Banksia Ericifolia

The top photo was the shot of the day, it may be a little out of focus as it was an 'action' shot. These plants grow at the side of my carport. I was leaning over on the wooden railing to get a good photo and because of its age the railing decided to give way. Over and down I went, still holding onto to my cell-phone camera, the camera is OK but I am not. Winded, grazed and bruised, no broken bones thankfully. Ouch!!! Good that I had my phone, I had to call for help. :-)

Love Can Leave You

Love can leave you
And break your heart
Leave you so hurt
And tear you apart
But don't lose hope
And keep your grace
For one day love will return
With another face
In one who is gentle
Sharing and kind
In one to which your worth
Will never be blind
In one who is constant
Who will take you to his heart
Someone who is true
With a more loving heart ...

A Memory for Valentine's Day

Whilst wandering through my memories
I came across this song
It meant so very much to me
In days that have now gone ...
Warm emotions stir within me
When I think of words we shared
Precious moments to remember
In them my happiness still lives on ...

Happy Valentine's Day to all of you who love and who are loved, may the day you share be loving and memorable ... ♥

Lost in the Forest

Lost in the forest, I broke off a dark twig
and lifted its whisper to my thirsty lips:
maybe it was the whisper of the rain crying,
a cracked bell, or a torn heart.

Something from far off it seemed
deep and secret to me, hidden by the earth,
a shout muffled by huge autumns,
by the moist half-open darkness of the leaves.

Wakening from the dreaming forest there, the hazel- sprig
sang under my tongue, its drifting fragrance
climbed up through my conscious mind

As if suddenly the roots I had left behind
cried out to me, the land I had lost with my childhood---
and I stopped, wounded by the wandering scent.
