To Touch Forever ...

Amongst the branches
I find my peace
Something tangible
To give me strength
To touch the surface
Of its bark
Beneath its skin
The rings of history
A record of times
It has seen and felt
The seasons of its memory
I lose myself amongst
A song of leaves
Of greens and tints
Of yellow
Sighing in a subtle breeze
Taking in their beauty
For here I find clarity
In often times
I have lost
A space of calm
To start anew
And put my thoughts
To memory
Through its canopy
I can touch the sky
Feel the soft of the blue
And reaching out from
The branches high
Almost touch
Forever …

Silence Again ...

Now the silence falls again
Like a veil of coldness
It closes in
Thoughts of unknowing
Hurt me again
I wonder this time
If it is the end ...
I went to your place
And you were gone
Not a word, a memory
Left to resound
Emptiness is all I found ...
So here I am alone again
What am I to do
How do I go on?
Lost in sadness
Will it ever end?
Left to wonder
What did I say?
To make you leave
For you to go away ...
What did I ask of you?
That was too much
For you to say
All I needed
Some kind words
From a friend ...
Not a word
Not an answer
Silence again.
Now you return
To your solitude
Once again
Seeking silence
Your closest friend …

Where Is The Hope?

Where is the hope?
Is there nothing more to say
I reached out to touch you
But you have drawn away
I spoke with sincerity
Trying to explain
The hurt that I shared
Trying to ease your pain
My words were sincere
What more can I say
Where is your heart
The one I thought cared
And what of our friendship
I thought we once shared
Lost and forgotten
Have you taken it away
Where are you now
And your words of yesterday
Where is their warmth
Left to fade away
Your kind words of the past
My comfort for each day
Now a tapestry of memories
Unraveling and frayed
Memories of a friendship
I thought would always stay
Where is your warmth
That touched me each day
Where is my hope now?
Since you have turned away.

Thinking of the Past

Thinking of the past
Memories pass over me
Like gossamer thoughts
They fade all too soon
I try to remember
When happiness found me
And try to forget
When you left all too soon
Once more I am alone
Lost in sadness
Again in the shadows
Trying to find my way
Deep and deeper I fall
Into the abyss of silence
I am almost at the end
Oblivion calls  …
