The Edge of Love

You return to me
once again
And I am lost in the happiness
of your words
The warmth of you
your presence
You arrive like a guiding light
that lifts my heart
From the darkness
of this sadness
I have hope again
because you are near
I live to see
more perfect days
I have so many questions
but only you have the answers
You say I must have faith
there is a time for us
A time for everything ...

You take me to the edge of love
so close, I can almost reach out
And feel your warmth enfold me
but there you leave me
Once again, to wonder
to hope, to wait
Saying you will return ...
But where do you go
what is it that takes you away
Why can't you stay?
And what is it
that always
Brings you back to me?

Oh thank you dearest Foamy for your thoughtful comment, yes it is positive, I have some hope once again but I am also being sensible.

Thanks, yes I did have a nice weekend, apart from the usual chores I spent some time gardening, which was pleasant.
I hope you had a lovely weekend and have a good week too!

Dianne,
i love the title....and the processus of introspection,....words with dynamism.... Neruda himself could'nt have done better!
i did read it as soon as you posted it, and i didnt want to comment as i was still rocking in these words!
warm hugs Dianne!

Thank you dearest col , I am so pleased that you liked the title, no other words would have been appropriate, the whole premise of this prose is based on these words ... for here I wait at 'the edge of love', not wanting to move in case I lose the connection.
It is a fragile connection, as delicate as the petal of a flower or a soft whisper, a lot of faith here, only time will tell if it will blossom further and of that I cannot be sure...I must prepare myself for further disappointment.
You are very sweet and kind to me dear col, but I am no Neruda, but I am so pleased that these words touched you as I do write what I feel in my heart.
Warm hugs to you dear col!

I once received a paper cut from the edge of love. So now I always make sure I handle it by the flat sides.

Well since you do live in Australia, I'm going to go with the most obvious answer to the last question in your post:

A very large boomerang.

dianne said...

Oh I am so sorry to hear that dear cyberhostage , love can cut you deeply if you aren't careful, you must stay away from the edges and enfold yourself right in the centre. :)

Pugsley my sweet, thank you, it is lovely to have you visit again.
Where have you been?

"A very large boomerang" you say, I was hoping that his affection for me and our friendship always brought him back...

Your words are full of love, of hope, reflect gray days, but also of the Sun, because always after the rain, the Sun invites us to continue, to continuing loving and fighting..
I wish you days of the Sun, and to write so well..
A special embrace dear friend
from Spain ^^

Yes dear Elia my words are full of love and hope, even when all seems lost I wish for happier days and I will continue to hope.
The sun shines on most days, maybe one day it will shine just for me and bring the love I can almost touch.
Thank you for your sweet words and a special embrace for you dear friend.
