Un flambeau ,Jeanette, Isabelle!

Bring a torch, Jeanette, Isabelle!

Bring a torch, Jeanette, Isabelle
Bring a torch, come swiftly and run!
Christ is born, tell the folk of the village,
Jesus is sleeping in His cradle,
Ah! ah, beautiful is the Mother
Ah! ah, beautiful is her Son.

Hasten now, good folk of the village,
Hasten now, the Christ Child to see,
You will find Him asleep in a manger,
Quietly come and whisper softly,
Hush, hush, peacefully now He slumbers,
Hush, hush, peacefully now He sleeps.

English translation of original French lyrics.
Traditional carol: Instrumental /Music arranged by Loreena McKennitt

I dunno. Seems there's something ominous about the torches.

Oh, I know.

I've been terrified of torches ever since that first visit by the townsfolk to Castle Puggenstein.

Bring a torch,
Jeanette, Isabelle
&
Bring Dolly7,
that would be swell

you can never have too much loreena during these dark days of winter, but after today, our days get longer up north -- we're on the way back to summer: birds and blossoms and barbeques...

Puggles , my sweet, I really dont think torches, the kind we know were invented when this carol was written; by torch I think they are referring to a torch with a flame or a candle since they had no electricity.
They are only going to look my sweet, not to burn him and I'm sure your townsfolk weren't planning on burning you my love or your Castle Puggenstein.
Is your castle still standing? You are still here, I'm sorry they frightened you. ♥♥♥

Oh /t. my dearest, cute little rhyme but poor Dolly 7, will you ever let her rest?

I love the names Jeanette & Isabelle and if I had been given the choice I would have chosen the french Janette with the emphasis on the french pronunciation of the 'Je', just a bit of useless information for you. :-)

There is more of Loreena yet to come.

I am so pleased that your days are warming up, after noting the freezing temperatures that you experience there I would be looking forward to summer as well.♥

Hello Foamie my dearest friend, yes it is a Christmas carol and it is unusual and lovely.
I was intending on putting the french lyrics here but found a mistake in the translation, they seemed to flow more beautifully with the music. ♥

So you will have to put your torch away for now, no burning of Dolly7 or Castle Puggenstein here today. ;-)

Yes it is your winter solstice, you have a yule log burning to keep you warm, I hope you had a nice Sunday. The sun is shining here and the temperature is a pleasant 73degrees, no need of a fire here.

I still have Christmas shopping to do...once more into the fray! ♥♥♥
