I ENVY THE MOON

I envy the moon that lights your night sky
If I had wings...to your side I would fly
The golden sunrise that bathes you in light
The velvet beauty of your night

I miss your sweet words that brighten my heart
Oh to vanquish the distance that keeps us apart

I envy the moonlight that shines in your sky
For there beside you I would hope to lie
And wrapped in your arms I would feel your love
As we looked together at the stars above

To feel your heart beat close to mine
And in that moonlight hear my sighs
As you look more deeply into my searching eyes
For at last I am with you,and you are mine...

Thank you dearest Foamie , it is a lovely photo of the moon, but no I didn't take the picture, just borrowed it...♥

So you do like my poem, its been in my head for a couple of days, finally fell into place tonight after about five drafts.
I think I'm happy with it...I think it expresses how I am feeling at the moment. ♥♥

I agree with Foam (please don't tell anyone!). You ARE a natural poet.

I know some coworkers that also appear to bathe ONLY in sunlight. And trust me, the results are no where close to the beauty of your poem.

What a lovely thing to say Puggles my sweet, thank you...I do try and the words come from feelings that I have and from my heart. ♥♥

I like that picture. I, too, "borrow" pictures.

Thank you all for your kind words and encouragement, it means so much to me and makes my writing worthwhile. ♥

Some poems do flow easily but even though I feel the emotion sometimes its difficult to express and convey those feelings into words. ♥

What a passionate and romantic soul. How wonderful it would be to have someone write such moving words about you. Must be quite the muse, this person so far away!!! I do not have my own blog, just like roaming cyberspace for lovely things and treasured words, looks like I found them. You really are a fine poet Dianne.

Thank you Anonymous , that is quite a compliment...
Yes I am a passionate and romantic soul...this muse who is so far away who has inspired my poem...well he is very special or I perceive him that way but sadly I fear he doesn't know me for who I am, nor care for me as I care for him...I have had no indication that there is any interest from him...maybe I just dreamt him up.
So that is life I guess but I like my poem for its words are sincere.
