Wildwood Flower

I watched the movie 'Walk the Line' late last night as I have always been a fan of Johnny Cash for as long as I can remember, heard many of his songs as a young girl being played on records by my older cousins and of course on the radio.
June Carter Cash had such a sweet voice too, it was great when they sang duets, they were really good together...together in music and what a great love story...love happy endings.
I like many kinds of music, classical, classical guitar, alternative, new world, rock but I'm also a little bit Country and a little bit Bluegrass.
Joaquin Phoenix did a wonderful impersonation of Johnny Cash's voice in the movie and so too did Reese Witherspoon with her renditions of June Carter's songs...really good movie.
I was looking up some of the songs from the movie on YouTube and found this sweet little song which has apparently been around for a long time and I just loved it...I think this version by Reese is lovely...hope you like it... ♥

K9 my dear, I love that song, one of his best,I think June Carter wrote that.
I can just imagine you as a lil puppy 'performing' that song for your family, that same lil puppy in the picture with her bike...
When I was a lil kitty I used to sing songs for my family and yes they still speak to me.
Didn't have any brothers or sisters but had a great many older cousins who loved me and let me listen to their LP's, what great times they were. :-) ♡

Thank you Foamy dear, yes it is a pretty little song, I love it when I search for something and find something else that is nice.

Great movie, I am going to hire it on DVD and watch it again.

Well I am still cleaning up orange dust, it has formed a film over everything and I mean everything...
then last night we had another dust storm but thankfully not quite as much dust. xo ♡

Yes Lee dear, it is a great film.

We had another dust storm overnight, not as much 'orange' thankfully as I'm still cleaning up the mess from Wednesday.
Very high winds here today, how is the weather down there? ♡

Raining a bit at the moment. Grand Final day - off to do the 'right' thing at a company lunch and watch two groups of self-opinionated neckless men in Lycra shorts fight for a leather ball in a muddy field.

Woohoo!

Well Lee dear, try and keep dry, enjoy the lunch and the AFL.

Go Magpies! :) ♡

I like Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash, too.

Pleased to hear it Lamby dear, they were a really nice couple and their music was great. ♡

Fed the magpies before I left. Also a wattle bird came down and demanded equal share of the pickings/peckings for the first time.

Yes Lee dear, I had a bit of a frenzy here tonight, the Sulphur Crested cockatoos are very pushy and try to take all of the food, I try to herd them away to give the magpies, wattle birds and spinebills a chance to feed but I'm not always successful.
There was much excitement here last night as Andrew my son and I found an echidna in the front garden, so cute but it got frightened and started burrowing, we tried to pick it up with a towel and move it to the back garden but it burrowed in very deeply so we left it alone.
He was able to get some photos but they arent very clear, I will post them in the next couple of days.
I hope your day out was fun? ♡

Yep. Pleasant enough, considering I wouldn't watch the game by choice but nice folk to talk to.

That's good Lee dear, the only reason I would attend a football match would be for the company of the folks I went with. ♡

Hi Dianne, Yes, we watched the film about 12 months ago with my then 17 year old son and all really enjoyed it. In fact so much, I ran out and bought a Johnny Cash CD and then my son downloaded it to his mobile phone!

Thank you for sharing the Reese video, really good version.

Glyn and I are hoping to watch a new film about called The Time Traveller - anyone seen it yet??

Thanks for stopping by Carol , yes a really enjoyable film, I think Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon did a really believable interpretation of Johnny Cash and June Carter, both in their acting and singing...
quite a special love story, I was pleased that it had a happy ending.

I really loved her version of this sad but sweet song 'Wildwood Flower', so glad I found it, you don't hear many simple songs like that now-a-days.

Did you mean the film 'The Time Traveller's Wife'? I hope you and Glyn enjoy the film, no I havent seen it. :) ♡
