T-Day, the day we celebrate the arrival of the Christian Right on our shores. If the Indians would have been smart they'd've stopped them at the shore and killed them all, thereby doing the Americas and the British a big favor, not mention keeping small pox and the European proclivity for land snatching at bay. Imagine if you will an North American continent that was Bush free - and they say Utopia is impossible to reach.
though I wonder if their culture was really so utopian as we all like to believe... but hey we are ditching Bush soon! Something to be thankful for indeed.
FINALLY! An ACCURATE image of the first Thanksgiving. And one that confirms what most historians suspected: they all hung out ON THE SAME SIDE of the table, a la "The Last Supper". Also, note another key detail: the "fixins'" were placed UNDER THE TABLE, per local Marmoset tribal custom. In fact, this is where the phrase "under the table" originated. Only later on was the negative connotation (indicating money secretly changing hands without the government's knowledge) attached.
Thank you all, I thought this picture was well balanced, I didn't mean to cause so much controversy, I was just wishin' ya all a happy and blessed Thanksgiving 'cos I loves ya...I'll just put on my moccasins take my peace offering pumpkin and leave. ;-) ♥
I hope you all find something nice to celebrate. ♥
ohhhhhh, dianne .. those thanksgiving wishes are truly appreciated .. lol .. we just a bunch of ornery curmudgeonly folks sometimes ... well, i really ought to only speak of myself. i KNOW i am... now i'm off to rattle a few more pans. got to fix a couple more dishes here.
Well Foamie my dearest, I hope you have a lovely day and I was only joking. :-) Gosh all that cooking to do, dont work too hard my dear, try and enjoy the day yourself as well. ♥
Ok Boney my love, you can bring the wine but aren't you a little late.
You have missed out on my pumpkin pie and the cranberry sauce I made, which was nice of me 'cause I dont eat turkey. ♥
The imagery...It was just my hope that the pilgrims and the native Americans could live in harmony in an ideal world, a common ground at the table of peace; but then I am an idealist. ♥

Happy Thanksgiving Diane!

Why, thank you!
Thanksgiving is reported rather than celebrated on this side of the world, what with it being spring and all.

May you have much to give thanks for.
