Autumn Light...

Soft light falling gently
On flowers so pure
Picked this Autumn morning
So fresh, so demure
Daisies from the garden
It matters not from where
Just a small memento
To guide your thoughts here...

Poem - Dianne Dawes - ♥

Hello again dear C.B., I am intrigued, could you please tell me the name of the tea tree perfume or cologne you have found so appealing? :-) The perfume I mentioned is Elizabeth Arden, Green Tea Scent Spray, Eau Perfumèe Vaporisateur. It is not expensive like my Chanel and Bvlgari. However,it does have some very interesting ingredients. I only use a little, that is all that is required but when I wear it I receive many compliments, which is nice.

Hmm. Now there's a thing. Well... For now, let's talk about petals. They are small, aren't they? Each one, a little life of their own. I went to Winchester town today. Spoke to a homeless man. Smelt some roses in a garden by the cathedral. Several roses. Several colours. Nope. Nope. Nope. Oh, yes. Beautiful. Just beautiful. What a scent! I closed my eyes and once again, sniffed in deeply. Such, such ecstasy. The sky was dark blue. The sun hot. I sat on the grass. For a long while. Lay back and listened to the little children playing on the swings, laughing, shouting, giggling. I looked up again through my dark brown sunglasses to the sky. I could still smell the roses. Maybe, though, it was the smell of one petal only. I don't know. Someone said that it was the 200th anniversary of Jane Austen in Winchester. I saw her house. She died there. I wonder what she would have thought about the roses I smelt. Bath town. Too busy. She never did draw herself to that town as much as Winchester. Maybe, they were too much for her. Winchester can be a nicely quiet town at different times of the year. I know that. I just know. Good evening to you then. Take care. Farewell. C.B.

Yes, of course we can talk about petals. Flowers are beautiful and amazing, the petals being so important in attracting bees and other insects, a symbiotic relationship.
Flowers are delightful, they give us so much beauty, in their shape, colours and fragrances. Roses especially are beautiful for their silky petals and so many lovely scents. Daisies are also beautiful with their bright yellow or green centres, their scent might not be so appealing but to me their faces always look cheerful. The gardens of Winchester cathedral must be lovely. I'm glad you enjoyed the fragrances of the roses, some are more lovely than others. Some of my roses have been beautiful and fragrant this year. I love them when the buds are just opening, they look so pretty. It would be very pleasant sitting on the grass in the sunshine then laying back and looking at the beauty of the blue sky. Something I like to do myself. I hope the homeless man was enjoying the warmth of the sun? I'm sure Jane Austen would have enjoyed the roses. Someone who could create such personable characters like Elizabeth Bennet, Elinor and Marianne Dashwood would surely have appreciated the beauty of a rose, as well as our kind and sensitive Colonel Brandon. Though I do love roses I would be happy with a bouquet of wildflowers picked from a meadow.
Winchester town looks like a very nice place, I guess like all towns it has it's quieter times. If I remember correctly you weren't impressed with Bath yourself? I do like the Georgian architecture that I have seen in documentaries. I would not venture into the city of Sydney. It is such a crowded place and a lot of people are becoming ill mannered and rude, some are in such a rush they would knock you over as they passed you. Sadly it's getting the same here in my once quiet bushland suburb. That is progress for you. Do you still have your black motorbike? I hope you have had a good week and that you are well? It would be good to hear from you again, we can talk about anything you like. Take care dear one, much love, your friend Dianne. X

Soft grass, warmth from the sun, a deep blue sky, the scent of roses! It sounds so lovely, I wish I could have been there too! :-) xoxoxo

My Suzuki Inazuma 250 motorbike was sold a couple of years ago, :-(. It was a great bike for adventuring and travelling. I went through much of France and Spain on it. No difficulty parking up - I could chain it to a tree or railing anywhere!

Yesterday, I went to the Dorset coastal villages of Swanage, Worth Matravers & Lulworth Cove. The last time I was here on a week-long school Geology trip in the early 1970's, staying in a hostel in Swanage. Unfortunately, tens of thousands of people at Lulworth Cove! I walked the long coastal path up and over to Durdle Door. I could imagine Jane Austen or even Thomas Hardy walking the same path although erosion has meant the path has been relocated a good few times. Along the path, I heard Polish, American, German accents. There was one pretty Bulgarian girl, about 25 (rather too slim for me although tall), who smiled at me on the way up. I have no idea why she smiled at me. I recognised her accent. She was with a shorter girlfriend commenting away. I had my notebook with me for notes as I usually do on such trips. I sketched in pencil an outline. Long hair. One never knows if there is something there for a film outline or plot point. I admit I gave her a somewhat intense stare, not for long of course. I sat on the grass halfway on the stony track on the way back after I had visited from Durdle Door and its beach and here she was finally, after coming up over the hill. Hmm, I would say she was a little short of energy. I watched her stop to breathe the fresh air at the top of the hill. The view, as you can imagine, was panoramic. She recognised me again and smiled. That's all. Does one need to go more than that? I don't think so. Acknowledgement is so important; it's under-rated. Really. For a full few seconds I felt her - all of her, her breath, her energy, her vital forces. No. I'm afraid I am one who needs a woman of substance, of vitalness. She flushed at me. But still... I needed more than that. That has been my life-long search. A woman must be...

It is time to go. I apologize but circumstances dictate. Farewell and until the next time. C.B.

Your walk along the Dorset coastline sounds wonderful and invigorating...all of that fresh sea air. The views across the English Channel must have been spectacular. I hope the sun was shining on the ocean, that always looks beautiful. You question why the young Bulgarian girl smiled at you? She may have thought you were handsome, that you had a friendly face or she was being friendly. I sometimes smile at people too, if they look in my direction, much better than a cold stare. Perhaps the fact that you stared at her intensely made her blush. She seems to have made a very positive impression on you from what you have written. If you were interested, it would have been a good opportunity to start up a conversation.
Perhaps like me you are shy, i find its difficult to approach strangers especially when you are a female...I would never approach a male, that might give the wrong impression. Although I have had conversations with strangers, mainly older people, it's nice to talk to them. I am a fairly solitary person, I have a few close friends, I am happy and friendly when I am with them. I'm not a social butterfly, my social life is practically non existent. I have no idea what you look look like, as every time I have mentioned that I thought I had seen you in a photo you have told me I am mistaken. Over all the time that has passed, 9years, I have seen a few 'headless' photos. :-)
I hope you find your 'perfect' woman, one of substance and vitality, I also hope she is loving and kind and has a good heart...and when you do find her I hope you will still be my dearest friend if that is at all possible. Until next time take care, much love dear one, Dianne. X

I always think of something else to say to you after I write my reply.
Yes, acknowledgment is very important. Just a smile, a hug or to take the time to speak to someone can make a big difference to their day. I'm so sorry you had to sell your Suzuki Inazuma 250, :-( you must miss the freedom it gave you. It is great that you had your adventures together in Spain and France. Did you also visit Italy? I really enjoyed the photos you posted of your adventures and those of your visits to beautiful country houses and gardens. Do you have a car now or do you travel by public transport? I just wondered how you are able to travel around now generally and to visit the places you wish to. Until next time dear friend, D.D. xoxoxo
