Much Ado About Nothing!

"Sigh No More, Ladies ..."

Sigh no more ladies, sigh no more,
Men were deceivers ever,
One foot in sea and one on shore,
To one thing constant never.

Then sigh not so, but let them go,
And be you blithe and bonny,
Converting all your sounds of woe
Into hey nonny, nonny.

Sing no more ditties, sing no more
Of dumps so dull and heavy,
The fraud of men was ever so,
Since summer first was leafy.

Then sigh not so, but let them go,
And be you blithe and bonny,
Converting all your sounds of woe
Into hey nonny, nonny.

Then sigh not so, but let them go,
And be you blithe and bonny,
Converting all your sounds of woe
Into hey nonny, nonny.

You are most welcome dear /t.
it is a tragic situation in Haiti, one wonders why these awful things occur and why innocent people have to suffer so much.

By the way, this post was not a slur on males, thankfully I know there are many good men, just like yourself. xo ♡

Gosh dear chickory I loved the film as well, it seems like such a long time ago.

I saw Kenneth Branagh in a TV series not long ago and I was thinking what a great actor he is, he plays the Shakespearian parts so well and I thought of this film and the 'hey, nonny, nonny'and it all came back to me.
I think Keanu Reeves would have been a better choice for the romantic part of Claudio and I remember at the time how brutish Hero's father treated her.
I guess that was when Emma Thompson and Kenneth Branagh were married, now she is married to Greg Wise who played the part of Willoughy, the libertine and love interest of sweet Marianne (Kate Winslett) in the Jane Austen film 'Sense and Sensibility'...thank goodness she came to her senses and married the wonderful and caring Colonel Brandon (Alan Rickman), a much better choice, as loving and faithful as the day is long. xo ♡

Yes Foamy dear,
the emphasis is definitely on being blithe and bonny, haven't you noticed that I am a changed girl, I am hopeful, I have put the past behind me and my heart is open to some that I already know and some that I have yet to meet.

As I have said before, this was not a slur on any male, maybe my ex and the absent Celtic Knight would fit into this category but most men are worth the effort and are faithful, like your dear Mr Foam.

I just enjoyed this film and I liked these words when they were sung in the film accompanied by the music of a lute. xo ♡
