The light from the moon was so bright in my room this morning that it woke me. So bright in my half awake state that I put up my hand to shield my eyes and as I did bright moonbeams passed through the spaces between my fingers illuminating everything they touched. I reached over to my clock to check the time and with bleary eyes noticed that it was almost 5 am. I stretched a little, gave a yawn and got out of bed and went over to the window, the sky was a beautiful deep blue, the air was cool and fresh, the moon hanging there in the sky and to the east the blue started to colour with a hint of lavender and pink...I love this time of day.
Everything is so quiet and still, apart from the occasional bird stirring in its nest. The sky is always so blue and the moon still lingers in the sky as if it doesn't want to leave with the night sky which has left it behind. The air is fresh and still holds a slight chill and the grass is wet beneath my feet.
In this hazy half light of the morn the earth seems to hold its breath and then as the sky starts to colour with soft hues of peach and gold and the bright rays of the sun pierce through the softness, mother nature seems to let out a sigh as a new day begins.
Golden shards of light slant through the trees, warming everything with soft morning rays, everything comes to life in this golden light. The birds wake from their sleepy nests and sing their morning song; flowers strain to the warmth of the sun to dry their dampened petals, dewdrops sparkle as they are suspended on a cobweb trapeze. Amongst this unfolding beauty I have a feeling of happy anticipation and promise; a new day has dawned and all seems right with the world.

awwwwww..
that's so lovely ..
makes me want to crawl right back into bed ..
except that it's midday here and i'm trying to warm up from watching my son's soccer match during a chilly and damp saturday morn ..
Beautiful, it was as though I were there sharing it with you. Early morning along the flight line on the base, with the moon just setting behind the White Tank Mountains is one of my favorite scenes.
You didn't happen to spot a Titleist IV while your were getting a good look, did you? Also, I'm missing a golf cart.
Beautifully written.
What's Thoreau's words about the sun being nothing but a morning star. That would fit perfectly at the top of your post!
Thank you dearest /t.
I'm glad that you enjoyed my piece,
it is something that touches my
heart every time I see the sun rise. I have been wanting to share that
with you all; I value your opinion of my writing. :) ♥ xoxox
Oh, Foamie my dear,
I'm so glad that you liked it.
I know what you mean about wanting
to crawl back into bed, I've done
the soccer Mum thing myself plus a
myriad of other activities which
required early morning starts. Yawn! But that's just part of being a parent eh.
:) ♥ X
Thank you dearest Phos I'm pleased that you could appreciate the beauty and that you were there with me, its nice to have company.
That moon setting behind the Tank Mountains sounds beautiful too; I never tire of looking at the beauty of the morning as the sun just starts to rise it is different
every time. :) ♥ xoxox
Well Puggles my sweet I do like walking around in the early morning with bare feet as the grass is usually so cool and wet. I'm sorry but I didn't stumble upon any pro golf balls or missing golf carts.
Cant you remember where you had it last? ;) ♥ xoxox
Thank you Lee pleased that you enjoyed my writing and welcome to my little piece of the Blogosphere.
I have been over to your blog quite a few times now and I really enjoy your posts. :) ♥ xoxoxo
Thank you Robert dear,
yes Thoreau had it right in saying "The sun is but a morning star" and it is a star for its 'light shines and takes away the darkness of the night'.
It would have been a perfect quote for the start of my post. :) ♥ xoxo
And thank you dear /t. and Puggles for adding your names to my 'Followers' list, I am honoured to have you both there. XOXOXOXOX ♥
So beautiful written.. I could almost feel that grass when I followed you outside.
It's amazing how much light you get from a full-moon, almost like daylight.
Thank you dear M so pleased that you liked it.
I love standing outside watching the sky in the morning just before daybreak.
Its getting hot here so I love the feel of the cool wet grass on my feet and the coolness of the air. The sky and all that is around me is a different shade of blue, then the moonlight shines and it looks and feels magical. ♥ xoxoxox
