Autumn
waits beyond the horizon
Now
the end of summer days
Air so sweet, cool and fragrant
Its
freshness will encompass all
Soon
the frost will cover grasses
Misty
mornings, crisp and cold
Shorter
days and longer shadows
Leafy
shapes move on the wall
Little
breezes stir the branches
Like
confetti leaves will fall
The
bright blue of the sky is fading
Taking
on a softer hue
Sunshine
sparkles on the water
In
the streams, ponds and rills
Sun
filled days and golden hours
Now
until the skies are grey
Birds
sing sweetly in the branches
Basking
in the sun’s last rays
Soon
to nestle in the forests
Anticipating
autumn’s chill…

Thank you dear Yannis for your kind words. I am very aware of the changes in the seasons and how they make me feel.
I am looking forward to the sweet cool air of Autumn as it is so hot here, we seem to be having an extended Summer. It is lovely in the garden at night, I went and sat outside earlier to enjoy the cooler and fragrant air.
Yes during the day the sun is shining on the water and the birds are making the most of the warm weather and splashing around in the ponds.
