While You Were Away...

My winter has been cold
While you were away
I watched endless roads
You may have traveled on your way
Through wild mountain passes
Cols and valleys far away
Along the edge of gorges
The waterfall’s fresh spray
As it tumbled over ravines
Splashed on rocks to find its way
To pristine lakes and rivers
Where it would finally lay
The beauty of green pastures
Where white cows happily grazed
Meadow flowers in the sunshine
Wild grasses as they swayed
The beauty of pine forests
A cool and fragrant place to stay
To rest and refresh
From the heat of a Summers day
And hoped you found the happiness
In the wonder of each day...

Hello dear Lucia!
Thank you for your lovely words and I hope you get to see that alpine meadow in August, how wonderful that will be.
I have been ill and in great pain with 'shingles'(Herpes Zoster) and I am still recovering. Whilst I was resting I tried to watch as much of Le Tour de France on the television. Such beautiful landscapes to see and I applaud the bike riders for their endurance, physical and mental strength to take on such a demanding but exciting tour.
Hugs and kisses for you dear friend.
Greetings from Australia.

Oh yes dear Foamy , the dreaded shingles. I have never been in such pain, five weeks now and still going, I have not had one decent night of sleep. I was prescribed some medication for the nerve pain and had a bad reaction to it, I am now taking another medication which is helping to ease the pain but only slightly. I am well and truly over being in pain and will be so pleased to feel normal again. It has not been my year as far as my health is concerned. Remember it all began with that bad fall at the start of February when I smashed up my mouth, thankfully my lip has healed completely with no external suture scars.
I hope you are still having a lovely Summer whether in Germany or in Nth Carolina?
Take care lil sweet pea!

Dianne.

Thank you dear Marty for your kind and sweet words. Yes, it has been cold here but no doubt not as cold as your European Winters. I am just hoping that the Summer will not be too hot.
I do find happiness in the wonder of each day, there is so much beauty to experience if one just looks, feels, listens and takes in the fragrances of nature.
