Thoughts From Another Time

Your words from the past touched me
Heartfelt thoughts from another time
So kind that you shared your memories
A glimpse of your world in mine

Those memories just over your shoulder
The one’s you hold so dear
Don’t put them away forever
Always keep them near

I hope I am in there somewhere
Back in your thoughts of the past
I will always remember you dearly
Your memory kept in my heart

Your presence always brings happiness
Your warmth touches my heart
That feeling of ‘coming home’
As your words reach out from the past

Sometimes I feel you near me
Yet your presence eludes me again
I wait for your words in the silence
Hoping you will return again…

For my dear friend,  C.B.

Dear Cosmo , thank you for your kind comment.
I don't know whether he would consider my friendship lucky or not, though many people do.
He stops by occasionally, last time he left a beautiful poem for me, a very heartfelt poem, very personal to him. I was honoured to have him share his thoughts with me because I understood its very personal and cherished nature.

onde a frase é ..Jesus é o Caminho.

PICKING DAISIES

There were moments
When unbearable shyness
Lowered my eyes
So that in my mind
I imagined her only

Threading daisies
In the field
Knowing for sure
What she felt
Deep inside

Later I would
Walk that path
Where she had trod
Stopping where she had
Stopped.

And bending down
I would pick
Those daisies
And place them gently
In my diary

That evening
My mother asked me
What I was thinking
Nothing, I would
Hastily say.

Thank you dearest CB , dear one, for sharing your most beautiful and romantic poem, you know I always love reading your words.
It is so sad to be shy when one wants to share their innermost feelings with that one special person but holds back, usually for fear of rejection or appearing foolish.
The special feeling of walking the same path where someone walked and stopping in the same place where they once stood makes us feel closer to the one we care for, we put ourselves where they once were, a lovely feeling.
I have threaded many daisies over the years, made wishes and I have some pressed daisies in my own diary/journal.
I almost posted an image of a field of daisies to accompany my poem for you but thought you might like these colourful field flowers instead.
Warm hugs my dear!
