Amidst the Golden Light

Perhaps in another life
In another place in time
You will return to me
Amidst the golden light
I shall be waiting there
With hope in my heart
In the crisp chill of the air
Of an Autumn afternoon
We shall walk together
On a path of golden leaves
Falling all around us
In a cathedral of trees
Hand in hand together
With love in our hearts
On and on forever
Never to part ...

This is brilliantly BEAUTIFUL, Dianne! I really love it :)

"We shall walk together
On a path of golden leaves
Falling all around us
In a cathedral of trees" ~ LOVE x 3!

A beautiful story of hope which turns my thoughts to Enya's song title of "Hope Has A Place in the Lover's Heart"

It truly does and also in the hearts of everyone you touch with this poem :)

Hope you're enjoying your weekend ♥

Hope they aren't Hindu. In another life, they may come back as a bed-bug.

Wistfully put; charming as always.

to take refuge in the cathedral of trees. no one is ever alone in a forest. "meet me in the forest tonight and we shall dance by golden moonlight". I love your love of golden and you use it so well. You should check out "blurb" and make a little book of poetry. and send me one immediately. Love to you sweet girl.

I don't carry an umbrella, I just let the leaves fall all around me and on me when in the forest, it is like golden rain.
Thank you, I am pleased that you liked my poem. :)

Paul dear, thank you for your generous words of praise for my prose.
It is so lovely to ride or walk through the forest in Autumn, the fresh breeze against your face and that lovely filtered light shining through the tree canopy.
Enjoy your mountain bike ride in sunny Wales, it sounds wonderful. :)

Thank you so much for your lovely comment dear Fiona , yes I love those four lines too, though I did have a few problems at the beginning with the rhyming and tried changing the poem but it did not work.
It is nice that you enjoyed the story.
Enya's song is beautiful and amongst my favourites.
I hope my words do speak to all of you and perhaps touch your hearts just a little.

Enjoy your weekend also! :)

Thank you dear chickory for your lovely words. Yes, there is a magical feel about the forest, one is never alone. I am sure the trees have a welcoming spirit which makes us want to touch them, they are so beautiful in every season. I love the stillness and the golden light from the soft sunlight shining through the Autumn leaves.
I remember your beautiful painting, yes "meet me in the forest tonight and we shall dance by the golden moonlight", how lovely that would be.
If I ever publish a book of my poems I will send you one immediately.
Thank you sweet girl and love to you too!

Thank you dear Olga for your lovely comment. I enjoyed your beautiful post today.
It is Spring here and the weather has been quite mild but the last two days have been very warm, an indication of a hot Summer to come.
I find myself thinking of Autumn days, with that golden light that seems to touch everything, the warm colours of the grasses and the crisp coolness in the air; such a lovely season.

I was speaking metaphorically, that perhaps in this lifetime there would have been another outcome to my life and opportunities wished for to be realised.

Amiga Dienne.
.
