Softly upon the page . . .

Where are your words of friendship

That once fell softly upon the page?

Words that were kindly written

How sad when friendship fails

You said you would always

Be with me, only a thought away

But now I do not feel you

Though I look for you each day

Perhaps I hoped for more

Than you could ever give

But you could have told me

And been the one to say 'Goodbye'

My friendship has no boundaries

I give with all my heart

I am truly sorry ...

Maybe that was my mistake

No hope of words left unspoken

Only echoes from the past

Now an empty silence between us

A heavy sadness fills my heart . . .

Poem by Dianne D ... ♥

damn i hate when that happens. so sorry. maybe they were abducted by aliens.

foam said...

yes, i understand. i sometimes puzzle over disappearances too. maybe they have been abducted by aliens as chickory suggests. it would be nice to have an explanation or statement explaining why one is away, but unfortunately those are rarely forthcoming.

dianne said...

Thank you dear chickory , I doubt that aliens took him, he just did not care as much as I did.

Thank you dear Foamy ,
as I have just said I don't think he ever cared as much as I did, and because of that I made it easy for him,I am the one who said 'Goodbye', so it is my fault as well ... now I am just sad.

One gets the feeling when they are not wanted or needed any more and are past their 'use by' date.

Thank you dear J Cosmo for your thoughts, no, life is definitely not fair.

liebe Dianne,

As I am frequently abducted by aliens (tell me you weren't surprised), I shall be on the lookout for him. I sure don't enjoy the probing, but their "echos from the future" technology is killer stuff.

A sad story but a wonderful image..... Hugs from Luzia.

dianne said...

Thank you dear Lesley , yes it is very sad.
I found that picture a long time ago and did not remember where it came from, I was going to and still might try to paint something similar.

Thank you Pugsley my sweet, no he has not been abducted by aliens he is still here on planet Earth.
Nothing you say would surprise me my sweet, I don't like to think of aliens probing you and I'm not sure I would really like to know what awaits us in the future ... I have too many sad echoes from the past.

Thank you for your thoughts dear Luzia , yes too much sadness.
The image is wonderful, I have no idea who painted it or where I found it, I thought it was beautiful and hoped to paint or draw something similar.
Hugs to you too dear Luzia, I could surely do with some.

A beautiful and sad poem. The words are on paper, and love and friendship they can take the wind, and hearts are lonely and hurting. Besos.

dianne said...

Thank you dear Leovi for your thoughtful comment.
Yes the words are on paper, the friendship is faltering and the hurt and loneliness is in my heart... but if he values me as much as I value him, then we might be friends again.
I doubt that he will see this poem.

That's truly moving, Dianne.

dianne said...

Thank you dear Lee , that is very kind of you to say.
Maybe it is time to let go,I think I should direct my abundant affection into other pursuits such as nurturing plants and trees,as I seem to fail miserably when it comes to some friendships,
relationships...I just cannot get it right.

Dear Jasmin
I have removed my first reply to your comment as when it was translated into English it was completely out of context.
I hope the e-mail reply that I sent was easier to understand with your Google Chrome translator.
Sorry dear, I hope you will understand.

Dear Dianne,
It is such a beautiful expression of your feeling.s I just loved it and the picture as well. I have lost few of my close friends because of distances and time. Sometime it is just destined and I'm learning to let it go. The thing called move on ;).
You take care of yourself lovely lady

Love and hugs

dianne said...

Dear Shweta , thank you for your thoughtful words, yes I must learn to be less intense and not expect so much from others in friendships, see I still have a lot to learn...sometimes it is very difficult and sad to let go.
They are expressions of my feelings but I doubt that my friend has been here to read them.
I hope that you are well and happy sweet girl?
Love and hugs, Dianne

Hi Dianne,
Havent visited since quite a while....

Your poem reminds me of 'signs and acknowledgements'
and how we can be self punishing with ourselves
which keeps us prisoners of our own guilt for things not having turned out as our 'magical thoughts' would have wished.

Personally, i had been spinning in such a thing for a while.

Persephone was kidnapped ....but we have the freedom to be where we want to be....
Our energies long to take us away
from the shadows we keep to the light that calls us!

This is a lovely poem that helps us to contemplate on our positions of life!

sending you a lots of love!

dianne said...

Thank you dear COL for your thoughtful and insightful comment.

Yes, Persephone was kidnapped, she is also known as the majestic Queen of the Shadows, that is why I have put her there, for I am in the darkness and in the shadows as to what I have done that was so devastating to him ... Oh, I do take some responsibility for what has happened, I said some things out of frustration of being ignored, which should not have been spoken, I am too giving, too intense and expect too much of others... I hope that they will feel the same or at least show some enthusiasm. I am forgiving, why cannot others be forgiving of my human flaws.
After all what is friendship about, aren't we supposed to be there for each other, care for each other? I was, no matter what, I was good listener, caring, also forgiving.

I would love to be away from this hurt, out of the shadows and into the light but I am not free, I am a prisoner of my own feelings and until I can let them go, I am trapped in this web, going over and over what has happened, trying to understand.
I hope you are not still spinning, that you are happy in your life?

Thank you for your wishes of love, you are very sweet and kind to me.

Sending lots of love to you too!
