White Silences

Once again I find I am alone
And sadness fills my heart
I shall try to understand
But I cannot let you go
You are the happiness that eludes me
I have to let you know
This time I shall search for you
Wherever you may go
I will look for you on all of my horizons
When the golden rays of sunshine fade
And leave the sky in shadow
And night falls upon the Earth
I will fly to you on wings of hope
In the glorious pure light of the Winter
As its sunrise brights the snow
I shall look for you in the forest
Where you find peace and solace
Amongst the trees and falling snow
Look above you, I may be that little bird
Singing so sweetly its morning song
As it darts from branch to branch
Just out of your sight
But dusting you with snow
I will be there with you
Though I doubt that you will know
The air cold against my face
The anticipation of you
I shiver in this coldness
I long for the warmth of you
If I can still my expectations
And these feelings in my heart
I may just catch a glimpse of you
As you walk your solitary path
And you may just hear me call your name
In the white silences amongst the falling snow . . .

Dianne, that is such a beautiful poem! What a joy to read.... such beautiful phrases and lovely images.

Is this someone you have known in your past that you long for, or someone you have yet to meet? If that's too personal, you don't have to answer.

Beautiful. :)

Thank you dear Foamy

I'm so pleased that you enjoyed my poem, yes it if full of hope.

I thought the painting with the sunlight brightly shining on the snow went really well with the words and I know exactly what you were thinking:
DON'T EAT THE YELLOW SNOW!! :)

You could have said it I would not have cared, it was part of your New Year's song. :)

The last time I went walkies in the snow, I was hit by a snowball. But I am sure it could have been anybody.

Thank you dear Marty for your kind wishes, you are very sweet to think of me.
I am pleased that you enjoyed my words, I was over at your other blog earlier looking at your beautiful water colours, I must start painting again as I do enjoy it.
I hope you have a wonderful New Year with many days that bring you happiness and love.

I would not throw a snowball at you Pugsley my sweet, in fact your little feet would get so cold in the snow I would put you in a warm basket with a blanket and carry you around with me. :)

i read this poem of yours a couple of times,
allowing myself to be lost in it.....
unable to leave a comment
because of the emotions it stirred.

Dianne, This is so beautiful!
Thankyou so much for such lovely words!

Dearest Craftsman

Thank you for your lovely comment and praise of my poem and allowing yourself to be lost in my words.
I wish I could have said more here, my feelings were so deep, my emotions raw, I wanted to express how I felt so much more than this but I was so sad and upset I just couldn't find the words.

Hugs
