Fallen Embers - Once, as my heart remembers...

Once, as my heart remembers,
All the stars were fallen embers
Once, when night seemed forever
I was with you

Once, in the care of morning
In the air was all belonging
Once, when that day was dawning
I was with you

How far we are from morning
How far are we
And the stars shining through the darkness,
Falling in the air

Once, as the night was leaving
Into us our dreams were weaving
Once, all dreams were worth keeping
I was with you

Once, when our hearts were singing,
I was with you.

Vocals: Enya
Lyrics: Roma Ryan
From the album 'A Day Without Rain'

I love Enya. She could sing the ingredients on a box of cereal and it would sound beautiful.

Thank you Paul and welcome to Here is my Heart, yes I agree, Enya has such a wonderful voice and range, she would make the most mediocre phrases sound beautiful if she sang them.

Pugsley my sweet, thank you for your comment but you have confused me, I don't understand, are you referring to all of the photographs taken of outer-space?

Thanks dear Lesley
it is another lovely song by Enya, I am pleased that you enjoyed it.

There are quite a few comments here from my friends that I have found amusing. :-)

Thank you dear Lee

Is that your non-commital way of avoiding a comment or did you really enjoy the song? ;-)

Thank you too dear J Cosmo
are you also avoiding a comment?
I know that Enya is not to everyone's taste, but given that you are such a romantic soul I thought at least you would enjoy the song. :)

Thank you dear Foamy , yes it is very soothing like a lullaby, I hope it didn't put you to sleep.

When I listen to this song I have visions of a beautiful night sky, glowing stars and dream like scenes of a girl in a wispy floating gown, the moonlight shining on her, she is remembering how things were when she was with the one she loved ... something like this would be more appropriate for such a heartfelt song.

I looked all over the Net last night trying to find a really lovely video for this song but this was the best I could find and then it has those awful advertisements at the end. :(

Thank you and welcome dear Sancho ,
of course you would have to agree with your Master but I thought you would be a true romantic since your favourite film is 'Camelot'and have an opinion of your own. ;)

liebe Dianne,
die Musik von Enya, ist schön, es muß nicht immer laut sein, es sind die leisen Töne, die das Herz ansprechen,
wenn man nicht verlernt hat dieses zu fühlen.....
liebe Grüße von Jasmin

Thank you dear Alexandre ,
I am so pleased that you liked the song but how would I have known that you liked it, I cannot remember posting it here before?

I posted it here for you because your beautiful poem 'Once' reminded me of this song and how much I had missed listening to Enya.

Have we talked about this song way back in the past, perhaps you are confusing me with someone else or another song?

there was something about the rhythm that reminded me of a lullaby, not so much the lyrics. and i did happen to be extremely exhausted when i listened to the song. it had been a loooong day at work and listening to it actually relaxed me ..... until the ad charred me out of it .. lol.

dianne said...

Yes dear Foamy ,
I find her music very relaxing, some nights when I go to bed I listen to her CD's on my Discman (I dont have an iPod) and have drifted off to sleep, peacefully, especially after a stressful day.
Yes that ad at the end does spoil the whole ambience of the preceding song ... it jars you out of a relaxed state.
Thankfully there are no ads on the CD! :)
