Love's Hope

Love's hope falters and fades
as the lonely moments in time pass
in the long silences between us
But when I think of you
hope is never lost

For it dwells in the places
in my heart
Where warm memories are kept
and feelings of love live on
though the words are not spoken
Yet still I feel happiness
when memories of you come to light
For I feel your presence close to me
and though I cannot reach out and touch you
the warmth of you is only a breath away
Sweet memories of you
shall live on forever in my heart
You shall always be with me
if only in my thoughts and dreams . . .

Thank you dearest /t. it is so nice to be told that it is ok, in fact that it is grand to be a hopeless romantic ... I cannot help but be this way and as it is said "hope has a place in a lover's heart"... something to hold on to.
One of these days I just might be a 'romantic'.

Thank you my dear HLiza , yes it is lovely to have the capacity to feel affection for someone and try to express those feelings in words, even if they are not returned... sometimes we just have to accept what we are given.
That makes me feel happy when you say that is what you love about me, thank you, that means a lot to me.

and you are incurably romantic.

Maybe you should consider writing poetry.

Thank you dearest Foamy , I'm pleased that you liked my poem.
It began with the two words 'love's hope' then many feelings of love and loss came to me,then the poem followed.
You know what it feels like to love someone and the warmth that brings to your life, even though you say you aren't a romantic. :)
I do know what it feels like to be in love or to feel the happiness that love or affection for someone brings to us, especially if it is returned and if not it is not a wasted emotion.
I am a warm person and though I write about romantic things I am practical and don't imagine my life is going to be any different to how it is now.
Maybe some day I will be cured. :)

Thank you dearest Lamby that is very sweet of you and a nice suggestion but there is a lot of romantic poetry out there in the big world and most far better than mine.

Nothing wrong with being hopelessly or incurably romantic.

Some of us are just incurably hopeless, and that's OK too.

It's a lovely poem, Dianne. If they do ever find a cure, please, refuse the treatment.

Thanks dear Neil I am pleased that you liked my poem, yes I am a romantic and these poems come straight from the heart.

Do you have a blog where we can visit you, for your poetry is very beautiful and should be published for all to read and enjoy?

Thank you my dear J Cosmo
I'm so pleased that you liked my poem, that is quite a compliment coming from an accomplished poet such as yourself.

I guess there is nothing wrong with being a hopeless or incurable romantic as long as I don't live with my head in the clouds.

There is nothing incurably hopeless about you my dear friend.

no I dont dianne,I like just leaving them around on different site's,its the words others write sort of draws them out out of me.but your poems are really something dianne and I would say if you had the funds and stuff you should take it up full time as the feeling you are using is obvious. something that a lot of other poets lack,so keep writing dianne your gifted I would say...neil

Thank you dear neil that is such a lovely compliment, yes there is a lot of depth of feeling in my poems which I have gained from life's experiences such as disappointment, from love and the loss of it and now being on my own.
But there are glimpses of happiness in there too when I write about my love for trees, flowers and nature, in some of my other poems.
It is a shame you don't have somewhere to post your poems, don't forget to keep a journal of your poems. Those you have left here and at chickory are really beautiful, you are the one who has talent, your words paint a tapestry of images, colours and feelings.
Maybe you should be the one who is published my dear friend.

I once wrote something similar about that mannequin in the store window (technically it was a womannequin).

dianne said...

Did you Black Bart my sweet, and what was her reaction, did she smile at you, put her hand to her mouth and blow you a kiss or just stand there without movement or emotion?
Sometimes words of love are wasted.

If someone wrote this prose and felt this away about me I think I should faint.
Thank you for taking the time to stop by my sweet. xoxoxo ♡
