Be Gentle With My Heart . . . ♥

Go slowly, tread softly
Be gentle with my heart
It is sincere and true
More fragile than you know
Please don't make promises
You know you cannot keep
Don't tease me, don't tempt me
With sweet words that you say
Don't promise me tomorrow
Then turn and walk away
My affection is constant
Far too precious to betray
Come softly, come slowly
Please don't turn to walk away
Come softly, come to me . . . please stay . . .

So lovely to see you dear K9 , I hope that you are well, I have missed you.

Lol, grrrrrrrrr softly and stay!
Should I treat him like a hound? ;-)

No, I could not do that he is really very kind.

Beautiful! Reminds me of people who mean nothing they say. Lovers make promises for the future, and in that attempt neglect the present. Unfortunately, present is all that matters.

Thank you Opaque
for the lovely compliment, pleased that you enjoyed my poem.
It takes some people a long time to realise what they have and that is 'here and now'... yes all we do have is the present.

Thank you dearest Foamy
I am pleased that you enjoyed my poem, yes soft and fragile is what I was hoping to portray.

Lol,you can see that the 'she dawgy' K9 has already been here with her comment, I wonder what Pug will have to say, something irreverent no doubt? :-)

It has a gentle insistence, a soft intensity. Nicely done!

Thank you dear J Cosmo
you are always so discerning, that is exactly how the message of this poem should be perceived.
I am pleased that you appreciate my efforts.

Like Ray Charles, I prefer to have that someone unchain my heart, and opt for an invisible fence/shock collar instead.

(p.s. - why does K9 never pay ME a visit?)

dianne said...

Oh Pugsley my sweet, a chain around your little heart would be a heavy burden indeed, but would you really prefer an invisible fence/shock collar?
What about a heart that was free from all emotional restraints, that would be better.

(p.s. - I dont know why K9 has not visited you, she had not been here for a while until recently; I would think that she might be busy with her painting.)

A lovely poem, Dianne. How could people be anything but gentle with your heart when you open it so freely?

dianne said...

Thank you dear Lee
that is such a lovely thing to say, but maybe I should guard my heart more carefully for not everyone is as caring as I am. xoxoxo ♡

Very heartfelt. How difficult is love when the person you love playing with your feelings without scruples.

dianne said...

Thanks dear Leovi , yes it is heartfelt, love is difficult when it is not returned, he does have scruples, he just doesn't return the feelings that I have for him ... we cannot make someone love us.
I am feeling much better now and more accepting of how things are, I will be alright.
