Each Time You Go Away ...

I thought you had returned to me
and this time you would stay
But now I find you are missing
once again you have gone away

I am following your footsteps
trying to find the way
To the world that you escape to
the world that takes you away

From the warmth that I offer
from my need for you to stay
How much longer must I hurt
when I look for you each day

A search that brings more questions
all I feel is dismay
No answers can be rendered
all I do is lose my way

I feel lost and disheartened
as I struggle to find my way
Back to a place that is familiar
where I would find you each day

To a time that was so precious
a place we once shared
Can you find it in your heart
to come back to me and stay

For my hope is slowly fading
each time you go away . . .

Thank you dear J Cosmo ,
very kind of you to say ... it is a little sad but I am alright, just expressing the emotions I feel about a valued friend who comes and goes from my life. xoxoxo ♡

lovely paintings - this post and the one below - are they old oil paintings?

Diane, you've gotta click on my gallery-blog - you're gonna love those pics! I took them the other day. and guess what? Just 2½ hours from home! But those animals were in captivity (well a very large area... but still... not out in the wilderness... however we did it, because we usually only meet the moose when it's too dark for pics to turn out well enough.

Hi Sarah Sofia , I couldn't find a date for this painting but the one of Tristan and Isolde was painted in 1902, both are painted by Edmund Blair Leighton, 1853-1922, he was an English painter of historical genre scenes, specialising in Regency and Medieval subjects.
I shall pop over to your gallery.

moping & pining...

not your best work, dianne

True dear /t.
not my best work but the poem expressed exactly how I was feeling, not moping or pining just disappointment.
It was a bad day all round, I wrote this poem on the evening of the 10th which was the second anniversary of this blog, but I didn't feel like celebrating as it would have been my Dad's birthday if he was still alive.

dianne,

use personal experience
to charge your work, but...
do not make your work about it...

picasso painted guernica (arguably the most important painting of the 20c) -- he must have felt great anguish (it charges the work) but the work itself is about the horror of war and great tragedy of man's inhumanity to his fellow -- it becomes universal, beyond picasso -- some believe this is the goal of art and poetry -- just saying

i like your work

Thank you dear /t. for your constructive criticism, I shall keep that in mind ...
I don't think this poem will be remembered beyond this blog, though it was inspired from personal experience, maybe too close to reality.
I'm pleased that you like some of my work.

Thank you dear Neil , it is a sad poem, it reflects the disappointment of having someone return only to leave again and searching for that place where once I felt comfort and happiness with this person. He may return, he may not... he comes and goes.
I am pleased that you enjoyed my words, you are very kind to me.
I would love you to write a poem for me dear friend. xoxoxo ♡

a sensitive heart
with open mind
on loving patterns
scatter in kind
expressions of thoughts
of together again
flutter the heart
deep feelings are sent
up to the sky
on a journey on the wind
over mountains and rivers
on loving wings
to the center of the spot
where the meeting took place
where love fills up the whole
of the empty space.

..peace..

The Time To Live

We will take the time to live
To be free, my love
Without projects and without habits
We will be able to dream our life

REFRAIN
Come, I am there
I'm waiting for nothing but you
Everything is possible
Everything is permitted

Come, listen, the words which vibrate
On the walls of the month of May
They tell you of the certainty
That everything can change one day.

We will take the time to live
To be free, my love
Without projects and without habits
We will be able to dream our life.

Georges Moustaki

The small, almost insignificant, things in life pass us by without our noticing them until it is too late. I am presently putting together a site which I hope will be both different and not require so much of my little remaining time alive. Nice poetry of yours and from the heart as always. Thk u. A.F.

This song is for you my love, you can see exactly how sad I am feeling by the posture of the girl sitting in the grass, it is one of sad comtemplation.
The music is to soothe you dear one.

Dianne, thank you. How strange you should pick Natalia. This is one of the tunes of Moustaki that I learnt to play on my acoustic guitar, sitting as I used to then, under a tree in the local park. I wrote a few of my own tunes back then. I still have a guitar, just behind this chair I'm sitting on, in fact. Maybe... I might upload a little tune onto my website one day... Another tune I learnt to play is
The Irish Girl by Adrian Legg. Regarding tiredness, well I think I got stressed too much in the last year. Things are a little better. I just mustn't get so down. :-) A.F.

Alexandre dear, yes what a co-incidence that I would choose that particular song, Natalia, I think it is a beautiful melody, the guitar and the mellow sounds of the strings, violins or cello?, not sure which, but I was sure you would enjoy this as much as I did.
Yes, 'The Irish Girl' as played by Adrian Legg is very beautiful also, you linked me to this song quite a long time ago, back when you would leave me sweet little messages in my comments.
How lovely that you learnt to play both of these tunes on your guitar; I would look forward to hearing one of your own compositions on your website one day.
I hope you had the time to read my other heartfelt messages I had left here for you, maybe they did not have much meaning for you, dismiss what I have said if you wish to or you think it is too trifling ... I was emotional when I wrote them after reading your message but they were sincere.
Maybe I am behaving too much like Charlotte Gainsborough for your liking? :-)
I hope your tiredness passes soon, you must try not to stress yourself so much dear one and try not to get so down.
Take care dear Alexandre, I trust that I shall hear from you again.

I had to re-post your comment, as I deleted it by mistake.

May I add that the painted woman looks a lot like You <3

dianne said...

Thanks dear Anna-Lys , yes maybe it is the sadness that we both share, it is always sad when someone we care for leaves and we wonder if they shall return to us. xoxoxo ♡

dianne said...

Dearest Alexandre, please come back soon, I miss you, each time I hear that song I think of you and your perfect hands playing 'Natalia' on your guitar; it is such a sad but beautiful melody, it makes me cry. xoxo ♡

Dianne,
no words..i dont know but somewhere i was identifying myself in this poem.
thanks for these lovely words
take care

dianne said...

Thank you Shweta dear
I think many of us can identify with the sentiment of this poem, wondering what takes someone away from us and if they will ever return and stay.
Maybe you were thinking of a love that you have lost.

Take care little one,
Dianne. xoxoxo ♡
