The Street Where I Live

I wanted to do a post today as it is the 22nd day of the month, one of my favourite number combinations, not that I'm into numerology but somehow good things have happened to me on this date in the past.

I was hoping to post a poem that I am writing but sadly the words and sentiment of this poem aren't flowing in the way I would like and don't mirror the feelings and emotions I am trying to express ... sometimes a message of caring and reaching out to someone can be the most difficult to write.
It's for a very thoughtful friend who has been here for me for much longer than I ever realised or imagined; someone who I am missing and should have valued more ... though I don't know that he would visit here now and read my message ... I don't know where he is ... maybe he is lost to me and no longer thinks of me as his friend ...

Therefore I decided to post this photo which was taken by my youngest son quite a few years back. He has a great interest in photography, there are more to this set but they are located in his files.

This is a long exposure, taken with a Nikon, Coolpix E5400; this is the corner of the block where I live, my house is further back from this corner... it was a November evening and he was experimenting with his new camera, capturing the lights of cars which were coming and going from our street.

If you enlarge the photo you can see a partial eclipse of the Moon and Venus just to the left and below the moon. There are houses to the right of the photo and on the left amongst all of that darkness is a large reserve of native bushland and beyond that a park and playing field.

My street is on top of a ridge, which is part of a plateau which reaches out like fingers into the bushland and valleys below, I am surrounded by beautiful trees and flora and in the valleys are many creeks which eventually flow into rivers and bays ... ♥
