Be Patient ...

“Be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves, like locked rooms and like books that are now written in a very foreign tongue. Do not now seek the answers, which cannot be given you because you would not be able to live them. And the point is, to live everything. Live the questions now. Perhaps you will find them gradually, without noticing it, and live along some distant day into the answer.”

Rainer Maria Rilke - 1875-1926 - Letters to a Young Poet

This is my favourite quote of Rainer Maria Rilke, it teaches me patience when I am restless and lost, acceptance when there are no answers to my life's questions. I do live the questions, for many there will never be an answer, but life must go on and I resign myself to this. I cannot always have what I would wish for, though my needs are simple and few. Perhaps in his beautiful words there is a small glimmer of hope for some answers in the days ahead ... perhaps.

This is an eye opener.

I thought I HAD been living the questions, but turns out I had been simply coexisting with them. And they never chip in for the bills.

So now I have questions of my own.

I thought the answers might be blowing in the wind, but it turned out to be candy wrappers and empty grocery bags.

Hello Pugsly my sweet, I know how you feel my little furrey friend, yes I am living the questions, coexisting with the questions and wondering when I shall get some answers. If I do get some answers will I be able to understand them when they arrive.
I have been waiting for such a long time and to be truthful I am running out of patience. Gosh, how long does one have to wait, I seem to have been waiting forever.
No my sweet, the answers aren't blowing in the wind, I don't know where they will come from.

I enlarged the photo. The tiny dewdrops on the tips of the blades are beautiful. It's what makes the photo.
Know this, if I could grab a suitable answer and shove it your way I would. But, alas, it's not possible. Best to embrace the moment like the photographer in the photo. Rilke's advice is good for all of us.
