The Reality of Silence

As my hopes diminish
And memories become shadows
I am lost in the darkness
Searching for your light
Sadness consumes me
The loneliness of isolation
Overwhelming, too much to endure
My heart fades into nothingness.
There was something that once joined us
A closeness, a connection
A friendship I thought
I wonder, where is it now
Your words that once warmed me
Have gone, along with my repose
Sometimes a glimmer of hope
When I think of you
I reach out to capture the moment
But it fades so quickly
Once more you elude me
A light in the darkness
Like a candle burning faintly
Just beyond my reach
But the flame is soon extinguished
The reality of your silence sets in
I lose hope again
And feel the emptiness of it all
And return once more to the darkness
Alone ...

I agree with the others: we need to start seeing some upbeat posts. I have to steal Prozac from Nicole Kidman's medicine cabinet just to visit.

I'll even help by suggesting some topics:

1) What you would do if you won a lot of money, besides travelling to Pamplona with Yours Truly?

2) Circus clowns: for or against?

3) Why Americans have funny accents;

4) Peyote: the ultimate garden feature?

5) My overuse of the colon and semi-colon;

6) Why do Great White sharks prefer Australia of all places?

7) Crocodile Dundee: high-point or low-point in Aussie culture?

8) What was the deal with Yahoo Serious?

9) Why can't the Pug get Kylie Minogue out of his head?

10) Was there ever an Old Zealand?

***

Anyhoo, hope this helps. Maybe you can do the whole series.

xo,
Pugsly

Thank you dear /t. , "kinda bleak", it's positively miserable :), I should not have posted this, I thought of deleting it more than once...the other alternative was "Saddest of Sundays" with which you are familiar.
Don't worry dear friend, this will be my last sad poem/prose. I did not wish to let go of this person, he is a good man, actually one of the best, that is why I am so sad, such a loss and to say anything against him would be a betrayal of him and our past friendship. It is obvious that he does not care for me any more, that is his choice so I must forget and move on.
I still have much in my life that brings me happiness, so I hope the 'pink period' you refer to is not far away.
I thank you for your kindness in visiting here to comment.

Thank you Elia my sweet friend for your thoughtful words and kind wishes of love and sunshine.
You are right, I am not alone, I have many friends here who care and I appreciate the support you all give me.
I have much to smile about and be grateful for in my life, it's just that when I am alone, really alone that the shadows creep in and I miss my dear friend...I am working through this but it takes time and a reality check like this prose I have written. I don't see him comimg here and telling me that I am mistaken, that he is still here for me.
So life goes on.
Thank you dearest Elia for your constant friendship.
besos y abrazos ^^

Thank you dear Diana for your thoughtful and sweet words...yes, dancing in the rain, I once believed that would work but it doesn't, something else I was foolish to believe...you just get wet and cold. I must find another quote.

Thank you dearest Pugsly my sweet for your kind words and thoughftfulness in the hope of cheering me...you have.
I agree with you, my poems and prose have hit an all time low, no-one more than myself realises how depressing they are, I am the one who lives them.
Definitely time for a change of pace and some happy, upbeat posts, I shall search deeply and look for some happiness, I don't want you to have to take Prozac just to visit here.
1) If I won a lot of money I would travel to Europe.

2) I don't like circus clowns, they frighten me; I am also against animals performing in a circus, I think it is cruel.

3) I like American accents, they are varied because the people emigrated from many countries; most states have their own particular accent.

4) I don't know what Peyote is. My ultimate garden feature would be a gardener to mow the lawn.

5) I like your use of colons and semi-colons; they are an essential part of punctation.

6) I don't know why Great White sharks prefer Australia to other countries; I wish they would leave as I would feel much safer whilst swimming at the beach.

7) Crocodile Dundee, I'm not sure that he did anything positive for Australian culture but he did have a big knife.

8) Yahoo Serious was one of the worst films ever made, along with Muriel's Wedding, Priscilla Queen of the Desert (which I have not seen), Strictly Ballroom and Baz Lurhmann's Moulin Rouge (I walked out after 20 minutes)just to name a few. I am sure our film industry has improved recently but I prefer foreign films, Anglo-American productions, French and Hindie.

9) I don't know why you cannot get Kylie Minogue out of your head, perhaps it is her song, though they all sound the same to me. There are many more talented and beautiful singers/actresses that you could focus on my sweet.

10) I believe New Zealand is Old Zealand, it has been there for a while, the same applies to New South Wales where I live, just as old. :)

Thank you my sweet, this has helped, you are a thoughtful Pug.
Love and hugs, Dianne

Dianne ..... As you comment in your post today, the reality of sielnecio, is there. with all their solitude, so I think that we should not forget our happiness is not something to postpone for the future, we should enjoy life, I think it's essential to know how to enjoy those little moments that offers a daily basis.

Thank you dear friend Leovi for your thoughtful words, yes a sad poem and my sadness was bordering on that of despair. In a perfect world someone in my life whom I care for can bring much happiness and peace of mind...but I should not put too much faith in another person and rely on them for my happiness, I must find my happiness from within.

but nobody can help you and wipe away your sadness ! you only can do that but it takes time and tears !
it is really hard ! I hope you will find a new period quiet and nice very soon ! I would like to help you and I give you my hand to find a new and beautiful way full of happiness !
bisous from a far France my dear dianne

dianne said...

Marty dearest friend, thank you for your sweet and thoughftul words.
Yes, I have many lovely friends here including yourself. I know that only I can wipe away my sadness, I guess it is foolish to count on someone else for my happiness if there is no love or affection there. Many couples have a happy partnership of love and their own individual happiness, one seems to go hand in hand with the other. All I ever hoped for was a lasting, mutual friendship.
Thank you for offering your hand in friendship and as a guide to help me find my own happiness, I will find my way again.
Bisous to you my dear friend in far off France.

dianne said...

Thank you dear Linda for your kind and thoughtful words. I don't know how comforting and healing my words were, if they helped you then I am happy. They were my feelings being expressed, freeing my spirit in a way from the burden of sadness. It was a turning point for me, I must find my own happiness and not rely on others to fill that void.

Yesterday, while I was at work, my cousin stole my apple

My apple ipad is now destroyed and she has 83 views. I know
