Somewhere Only We Know

I walked across an empty land
I knew the pathway like the back of my hand
I felt the earth beneath my feet
Sat by the river and it made me complete

Oh simple thing, where have you gone?
I'm getting old and I need something to rely on
So tell me when you're gonna let me in
I'm getting tired and I need somewhere to begin

I came across a fallen tree
I felt the branches of it looking at me
Is this the place we used to love?
Is this the place that I've been dreaming of?

Oh simple thing, where have you gone?
I'm getting old and I need something to rely on
So tell me when you're gonna let me in
I'm getting tired and I need somewhere to begin

And if you have a minute, why don't we go
Talk about it somewhere only we know?
This could be the end of everything
So why don't we go somewhere only we know?
Somewhere only we know

Oh simple thing, where have you gone?
I'm getting old and I need something to rely on
So tell me when you're gonna let me in
I'm getting tired and I need somewhere to begin

And if you have a minute, why don't we go
Talk about it somewhere only we know?
This could be the end of everything
So why don't we go? So why don't we go?

Oh, this could be the end of everything
So why don't we go somewhere only we know?
Somewhere only we know
Somewhere only we know

What if it's only a place that I know? You know? I'll be there, waiting in vain, because it turned out that only I knew about it. Then I would get lonely and depressed and order a pizza. But of course then the pizza guy wouldn't be able to find it. So then I'd be hungry too. Soon, hallucinations would set in, and I'd start imagining that the branches were staring at me. Tree branches ... bank branches ... they'd all be watching and judging. But anyhoo, I do appreciate the sentiment.

Oh Pugsly my sweet, don't panic, you are becoming overwrought, it is just a song ... if it was a place that only we knew you would know where it is!!
If you didn't I would send you a map or a GPS location, so please calm down, I would bring pizza too. :)
