Earth's Song

Whilst searching for myself at dawn
I was thrice blessed this very morn
For I found a flower I thought had gone
there amongst the weeds it shone
Its white petals will soon be gone
I promise you I will take more care
so that when I look next summer
you will still be there ...

I listened to the songs of birds
and thought about my wasted words
Magpies warbling just past the dawn
a lovely way to greet the morn
A fledgling chick calls for its Mum
both reunited in the morning sun ...

Walking barefoot on sweetest grass
water bubbling in my path
Running in between my toes
thoughts of childhood
Forget my woes
Winding my way through leafy bowers
such a lovely way to spend the hours
Finding new shoots along the way
welcomed blessings is all I can say ...

And now has come a balmy breeze
it moves with music through the trees
The leaves are dancing to a rustling tune
and in the sky I see the moon
Birds are singing their evening song
frogs and crickets in unison
All around a pulsing sound
I feel the coolness of the ground ...

The air is filled with the scent of flowers
How I love these dusky hours
All this set against a sky of blue
ever deepening in every hue
Once again thoughts of you ...

And in the distance an owl's call
still many sounds at night fall
Listen quietly to the chorus of all
For it is the Earth's song after all.

I decided to re-post this poem as some of my new followers such as yourself have not read some of my earlier works, there are a few little 'gems'sprinkled amongst earlier poems and I am going to bring them into the light of the future.
Thank you I have had a relaxing weekend; I hope you're enjoying your weekend too. :-)

You are welcome, dear Dianne :) I've been thinking of doing the same thing with some of my older posts. It's a slow process in building a larger following and during this time some earlier *gems* do not get the attention they deserve ;)

Are you multi-lingual, Dianne? If so, are there no end to your talents? :D

Love to you, always :) x0x

Thanks Fiona dear friend, it is a good idea to re-post some of our earlier poems, many of mine have not been seen in recent years.
They are worth 'dusting off' and being given a second chance. :-)

No, I am not multi-lingual, I do understand some phrases and words in other langauges but I would be lost without the Google Translator and even then some of the context of the conversation is lost in translation.
I write poetry, sketch, paint, sew, embroider, knit, crochet and play the piano badly, to name just a few things! Lol. :-)

Love to you too! xoxoxo ♡

Leovi said...

Majestuosa y altiva
apareces ante mí,
blandiendo tus faldas al viento
y no puedo resistirme ante tí.

Un solo gesto, una mirada,
una simple señal de tu mano
son suficientes para levantarme
e ir tras tus pasos,
ansioso por atrapar el polén
que el viento te roba.

Thank you dear friend Leovi , these words are so beautiful, are they from a poem of yours? I wish I could write with such beauty.

Majestic and proud
you appear before me,
brandishing your skirts in the wind
and I can not stand before you.

A single gesture, a glance,
a simple sign of your hand
are enough to get up
and go after your steps,
eager to catch the pollen
that the wind steals.

Muchas gracias mi amigo!

Thank you dearest Foamy for your very kind words.
I hope you are well, I'm sorry I missed your last post?
I hope it is not too cold for you now that Winter is here?
The weather here has been very strange, we did have some really hot unbearable days, then many days of heavy rain. Saturday was lovely, sunshine but not too hot and then yesterday, Sunday it rained again, a thunder storm, high winds and the temperature dropped so much I put the heater on last night because I was cold. Today is cool and cloudy, not like Summer at all...but I won't complain as I don't like the hot 30ºC plus days and the humidity.
Take care.
