In My Garden Today ...

Federation Daisy - Summit White

Miniature Viola

Calibracoah 'Million Bells' - miniature Petunias

Miniature Cosmos

White Cosmos

White Bedding Begonias

Petunia 'Sunshine'

Blossoms and new leaf tips on Cinnamon Myrtle (Backhousia Myrtifolia)

Hibiscus 'Edith Parsons'

There was no bright sunshine in my garden today, the sky was dull and cloudy but I decided to take some photos of the plants which are flowering at present, mostly white and yellow blossoms. These are the first Cosmos flowers I have grown and the 'Sunshine' Petunia is new. The fragrant white Petunia which I planted in the hanging basket earlier this year was looking quite distressed so I have put it elsewhere in the garden and replaced it with the lovely yellow miniature Petunias 'Million Bells'... I hope these are more hardy. I love the daisy with its bright, happy face and the sweet miniature violas.
The Florida and Star gardenias are providing plenty of lovely fragrance mixed with the exotic scent of the Star Jasmine, so walking through the garden is a pleasant experience for the senses. No sign of any flower spikes on my 'Baby Blue' or mauve Agapanthus as yet but I am still hoping since we have had so much rain in the last few weeks.
I have spent some lovely time in my garden today, I hope you will all have a great weekend. ♥

Thanks for the visit through your lovely garden, dianne.
i'm sitting here at 6:30 am with a cup of coffee contemplating the beginning of my saturday. it is cold outside. so, wandering through your garden was very pleasant. sometimes, having the glaring sunlight is not always beneficial for photos. these turned out very nice ...

Thanks Foamy dear, I hope you are enjoying your cup of coffee; it is about 10.44pm here so I shall have a cup of tea soon.
I was very pleased with how my photos turned out, maybe I am beginning to use my camera correctly. Yes you are right sometimes these dull days are better for photography.
Keep warm and enjoy your Saturday.

Beautiful garden you have there..I've not been planting or looking at the pots for almost a year now..not that I want to start now, hehe. Good job anyway, Dianne..I've heard of those names but can't remember how they look like.

Thank you dear Leovi , these are some of the exotic plants I have planted. I also love wildflowers and have posted some photos of those growing in my garden and locally in different posts throughout this blog.
I would love to see your wildflowers from La Mancha and look forward to seeing them one day.

Thank you dear /t. , I am so pleased that you liked my pics, it seems the light was good for taking photos.
Today is hot and humid with storms predicted, no two days are remotely the same at present ... I think I should like some snow! :-)

Thank you dear HLiza , yes parts of my garden are beautiful but some parts are unkempt and overgrown with weeds. I have so much to look after, I run out of time, energy and enthusiasm, I never seem to catch up and have it all looking nice at the same time.

I can understand that you would not have much time for gardening, with work, the children and family to take care of, you are busy enough. :-)

The Federation Daisy should be the official flower of Star Trek.

I can understand very well that you have spent lovely time in your garden !
your flowers are so beautiful ! I enjoy this post, because it's so cold here and your shots are very nice !
bisous

Do you think so Pugsley my sweet? Star Trek might be a federation of peaceful aliens and humans but I think they would choose a flower which is more exotic.
Maybe Q could choose one, or Data?

Thank you Marty dear for your lovely comment.
Yes the flowers are beautful, it is quite warm here today and the temperatures will soon be very high...no chance for me to take beautiful photos of buds and flowers laden with snow just as you have in France. :-)

i think
star trek would
choose a flower more erotic

people on that show seem so stiff & disconnected from real life... you know(?)... but that IS just an idiot's opinion

people who can actually grow real things in the real world are really imporant

like you

Thanks dear /t. , I haven't watched Star Trek for years,I never was a 'Trekky'.
Our TV programmers here are so behind the times with their off season programming they are now showing re-runs of the show when it starred a young William Shatner and now a much older Mr Sulu (George Takei) is doing ads for Sharp Quattron quad pixel technology television.

My son loved the show that is how I became aware of it. Yes in my humble opinion there was never much of a plot and the characters seemed detatched from reality but there are plenty of people who would disagree with me.

An 'erotic' flower, I'm not sure, maybe something from another dimension?

I'm happy with my real flowers, I like to see them grow.

Those are pretty flowers. Do you ever pick them and put them in a vase and bring them inside?

Any Confederate daisies?

dianne said...

No Phossy my dear, I don't have any Confederate Daisies growing in my garden, they are very pretty and I am looking for a yellow daisy.
They are wild flowers which grow in dry sandy areas of your country, also known as 'Stone Mountain Daisies', there could be a cultivar but I have not seen any in the garden centres here.

dianne said...

Thanks dear K9 , yes it is lovely to spend time in the garden, it is green, the flower colours are always delightful, it is peaceful, fragrant and the birds are singing.
So pleased that you like my little 'beauties', I am still looking for a local stockist for the 'Bright Eyes' cosmos, the picture there is a minature cosmos and was supposed to be a mix of different colours including yellow but they were all the same colour, that's Ok, I will keep looking. :)

Particularly like the Cosmos.

dianne said...

Thank you dear J Cosmo , hmmm, I wonder why you would choose those particular flowers? :-)
Sadly, the white flower does not look so great now, I think a hungry worm has had a meal and eaten most of the foliage. :( ~~~~~:o
