Moonlight

In the silent hours of the night
when all is quiet and still
Through my window
shafts of moonlight
dance throughout my room
Softy shining all around
they cast their argent spell
Dancing shadows on the wall
the silhouettes of leaves
Softly swaying in the night
stirring in the breeze
All around the moonbeams shine
casting everything with light
Changing pale to crystalline
lighting all within my sight
Such a vision to behold
as it weaves this magic night
Turning darkness into bright
with shining, silver light . . .

Thank you dear /t.
I'm so pleased that you enjoyed my poem.
I am just describing in poetic form how the moonlight does shine into my room at night and how it is transformed.
Quite beautful sometimes, depending on the phase and position of the moon.
I have also had some very spectacular light shows from thunder storms.

Thank you dearest Foamy , so pleased that you enjoyed my poetic voice.
Though my room does look very beautiful at night and during the day, as it overlooks the garden, I'm sure you would be happier to stay where you are with Mr Foam ... you are welcome to stay but I only have a single bed and though you are petite it may not be comfy... but you can have my bed with my lovely linens, I can always sleep on the sofa. :-) xoxoxo ♡

Thank you dear col , yes it is wonderful to have this silverlight dancing around my room and on me. I sometimes stand at my window and feel the cool of the air, the only whispers that can be heard are the leaves moving softly in the breeze, sometimes a bird disturbed from its sleep, though most nights all is still and the garden looks so lovely with its shadows and moonlight.
I look forward to seeing your beautful pictures.
love and hugs, Dianne

I have often wondered why moonlight was created. Maybe you have touched upon the answer Dianne with your beautiful poem. All one has to do is to look out wherever one is and gaze in awe as the moonlight touches the shadows and makes them just a shade lighter. When I was a small boy I used to travel on my mother's back across fields in the country at night, clop-clopping with her boots as I used to turn round and look at the moon, that bright moon, while she reminded me to hold on. In fact, after some minutes, I could see quite well; barns, trees, hedges, white stones on the ground. All quite visible and all quite silent, except for the occasional breathing heard as we went dropped down and up another ditch and continued across another field on our way back home (or as the French would say, 'rentrer à la maison'). Thank you Dianne for stirring memories and for a wonderful poem.

Thank you dear Alexandre for sharing a memory of your childhood as a small boy and of your dear Mother as you made your way home across the fields and ditches in the countryside of France. What a wonderful memory!
I think the moonlight was created so that we could see the beauty of our surroundings in its softer light and to guide us in the darkness wherever we may be.
After the intitial brightness of that beautiful light, our sight adjusts and we can see quite clearly all that is around us. There is something quite wonderful about a clear night sky, the moon shining brightly, its silver light brightening the shadows, I know for I have ventured out into my garden many times to gaze at the sky, to feel the freshness of the air and feel the grass, cool and wet beneath my feet.
I am happy that you liked my poem and that it stirred your memory in some small way.

That beautiful poem to the moonlight. Delicious your words to one of my favorite lights. Regarding the question I did, if they are pieces of glass. Greetings.

It has been years since I last look at moonbeam or night beauty the way you see it dianne..life is always hectic and night means getting back all my rest..wish I can sometimes appreciate them again..but I think I can also do that in my dream..

Hope to see you too in that dream! Hugs!

dianne said...

Thank you dear HLiza , yes life is busy, but when I get into my bed that is when I have time to unwind, I think about family and friends, I think about the events of the day, remember the good and try to forget about the not so good, a time to relax and hopefully fall asleep and have happy dreams. I often look at the sky through my window, watch the moonlight as it changes my room and the sky, sometimes it is so bright it wakes me from my sleep ... some nights I have been so sleepless I watch the moon until it disappears from sight.
Yes you can see all of that in your dreams and if you see me in one of your dreams I'm sure it would be a happy one of two friends talking and laughing together.
Hugs to you too! xoxoxo ♡

It's on nights like the one you so wonderfully describe, when I beg to be locked up; that way I'm not on the loose when I turn into a Werepug.

Lol dear Pugsley my sweet, I can imagine you maybe howling at the moon on a moonlit night, but I could never think of you as a Werepug, you are far too cute and sweet.
