Kissed by the Autumn Sunset

Two views of my Scribbley Gum, (Eucalyptus Haemostoma) , looking up into the canopy as the leaves and branches are bathed in the golden light of the setting sun.

The leaves of Autumn turn to gold
in the light of the setting sun
Bathed in the glow of her final embers
in a sky of softest blue
In this light they shine and shimmer
golds of every hue . . .

Hi Dianne, don't you think autumn is cool? I kind of like it actually since it's windy and not too hot.. few times when I visit countries with four seasons I get to meet autumn actually..but it's nice too to feel how winter's like..but I think in your side winter will not be white. Nice poem there my talented friend..have a good weekend!

Thanks Foamy dear friend
you are always here to encourage me and I do appreciate you and your comments.
I was thinking last night that it is a long time since we met up for morning coffee. :)
I thought since the tree looked so pretty against that soft blue sky that it deserved a little poem. xoxo ♡

Thanks dear Glyn
yes the top photo is my favourite too as the tree is more centred, but I liked the colours in both so decided to post them both.
This gum tree isn't deciduous but it does shed some of its leaves in Autumn, it will get a burst of new leaves and white blossoms in the Spring. xoxo ♡

THat indeed must be so beautiful! In here, it's Spring. And i want you tell me what is your favorite season?
Beauty always drenches your photos and writings :)

Thanks for your nice compliments dear HLiza , my very amateur photography compared to yours and my friend Glyn's ... but the photos turned out better than I had expected.
Yes I really love Autumn, but it is still unusually warm here, the day time temperatures are still quite high, 27C today and we haven't had much wind, only the storm I mentioned about 11 days ago and one or two rain showers.
Yes you have been travelling around and would get to experience the seasons in other countries; it doesn't snow where I live but in Winter it does in many parts of the country.
Take care and have a good weekend.

Thank you dear Maha
for the lovely compliment, I do try to post something of beauty here.

My favorite seasons are Autumn because usually there is a welcome chill in the air but the sun still shines in soft blue sky and the foliage takes on a softer shade of green ... and Spring, when the air is still fresh and cool and the new buds and leaves sprout from the branches and the earth and blossoms scent the air. xoxox ♡

I used to have scribbley gum too but now use floss in moderation.

dianne said...

Thank you dear /t.

Yes the colours were lovely.

Koalas don't eat the leaves on this particular eucalyptus, there are many species that they do graze on and from these there are about ten which they prefer.

The 'scribbles' on the bark come from the larvae of a moth which burrows under the bark, the sap is red coloured and 'bleeds', hence the name 'haemastoma'and dries to a deep brown line (scribble).

Oh, poor dear Sir Percy

How painful that would be to have 'scribbley gums', you will have to be more gentle with your flossing and use a mouthwash as well. :D

Dianne,
Becoming beautiful through the light of your autumn sun, and even more so through your poem....i love this bathing of meditative gold.

i love being here,
this place is kindled with tenderness and love....

i can see the miles and miles of endless beautiful in your human heart, for whatever shimmers on the leaves and heaven surely shimmers in you.

My dearest friend Craftsman of Light

You are far too kind to me but thank you for your lovely compliments, I don't believe anyone has ever praised me in such a poetic and beautiful way...your comment made me cry, but in a good way, I was very moved by your sweetness. ♡

I'm so pleased that you enjoy visiting me, yes there is love and gentleness here, it comes from within.

I am changing, evolving and coming to a place in my life where I shall be more accepting of what I have and don't have.
I was looking back over my blog and reading the sad and dreary poems I have written, most because of personal loss and sadness and yes there will be some more melancholy poems but not written entirely from my personal experiences or perspective ... after alI love and loss can be a romantic muse.
I hope that golden light will shimmer on me and glow within my heart so that I may share happy poems and thoughts with you and all of my friends.

Thank you again COL
and love to you too ...

Dianne xoxo ♡

Oh Foamy dear friend I'm sorry I am here too late and have missed our morning chat and coffee... but I was thinking of you this morning as you would have been leaving for work, I hope you did have a nice day and there will be other mornings for our coffee. :)
I was in a very reflective mood last night and I was reading through my archives, I cringed when I read some of the mournful poems and unhappy thoughts that I have inflicted on all of you over this time of my blog ... I felt like deleting a whole lot of my posts but I didn't because of all of the beautiful and encouraging comments you and K9 and my other friends have left me in my times of sadness.
Thank you. xoxoxo ♡♡♡

Thank you dear chickory
they did look quite spectacular in that golden light though nothing compared to the beauty of your trees and forest.
I might be taking some more photos of that place you liked so much before, with its colours and textures, only this time from a Winter perspective.
As I have said in the previous comment to Foamy, I was looking through my archives last night and in the early hours of this morning and reading comments, thank you again for all of the good advice and support you have given me, I am fortunate to have such caring friends such as yourself and Foamy and many others who have stayed with me. xoxoxo ♡♡♡

That tree is pretty. It's strange that we have opposite seasons. My part of the world is into spring and looking forward to summer. Your part of the world is in fall and looking for winter.

Little Lamb said...

Can you come and visit me again?

darkfoam said...

dianne said...

Thank you dear Lamby
Yes the tree looked so pretty in this golden light.
Yes it is strange that our seasons are the complete opposite and there is such a difference in the time; your day is my night and I think it is rather remarkable that the moonlight which I shall see tonight is now lighting your night sky and the sun which is now shining here will greet you in your morning.

Of course I will visit you again, I shall be over to see you very soon. xoxoxo ♡
