An Award from my Friend Little Lamb

Thank you for thinking of me Little Lamb and giving me this award!

In order for me to accept this award, I have to tell five things about myself and pick other bloggers to give this award to . . . I can think of many other bloggers to whom I would like to give this award but it seems they have received it already . . . but if anyone else would like to accept this, then please do, you are most welcome.

1. I love the changing colours, the textures, the fragrances that each new season brings us ... there is always something of beauty to see in the natural world or the garden. Each new season is a wonder in itself whether it is the freshness in the air, its soft rain and new growth of Spring, the warm, balmy days and nights of Summer with its colourful flowers and heady scents, the cool winds and warm colours of Autumn/Fall, with its lovely carpet of golden, hued leaves upon the ground and the frosty mornings and cold days and nights of Winter, with her magnificent sunsets.

2. I love spending time in my garden and derive a great deal of pleasure from tending my plants and watching them grow from small seeds and seedlings into their full potential of beauty as mature plants and trees and especially when I find a new plant emerging from the soil, something that has been brought to me, a gift from my little bird friends.

3. I love to visit art galleries and look at the beautiful subjects, rich colours and textures of the paintings and drawings that artists have created from their imagination and their great talents ...
I love most subjects that are painted but I think my favourites would be those of landscapes or nature.

4. I love visiting the library or book stores and sitting there with a whole lot of reference books on art and looking at the beautiful colour plates, Architecture and the wonders of many great houses and gardens throughout the centuries, History, especially English, Travel books and looking at photos of exotic locations and places I would like to visit and Botany books with their beautiful illustrations of plants and their structure.

5. I like to go for a drive in my car and discover new places, follow the road to where it takes me; in the past I have found some very beautiful places, such as beaches and lighthouses, old houses and their beautiful gardens, antique shops and galleries in quaint little townships, cafes and friendly people, beautiful landscapes, parks and trees, which I love to explore and admire.

There are some great old sandstone and convict made sandstock brick houses in the inner suburbs of Sydney to explore, I just like to wander around the streets looking at these lovely old terraced houses with their cast iron lace, verandah railings and decorative sandstone facades. These houses are owned by all kinds of people, some wealthy some not. Then you have some of the more historic buildings such as Government House, Vaucluse House, the Powerhouse Museum, the National Maritime Museum, the Art Gallery of New South Wales , Hyde Park, the Royal Botanic Gardens and further afield Old Government House at Parramatta ... plus so much more to take in and enjoy. . . these are places I love to visit and explore . . . ♥

I have no patience with gardening stuffs but I do like other things you mentioned..the art exhibitions, street exploring and historical buildings. How we're unfortunate to not have the four seasons you mentioned..

dianne said...

Thanks dear HLiza
I find that gardening relaxes me, being outside in the fresh air amongst all of those shades of green and leaf shapes, not to mention the flowers when they are blooming,it gives me a quiet feeling of satisfaction.
Yes art exhibitions are enjoyable and I love street exploring and finding historical buildings and gardens.
I guess your seasons aren't so well defined, it is a tropical climate no doubt,I'm thinking of all of those exotic plants you can grow.
Our seasons aren't dramatically different, not like those of our friends in the Northern Hemisphere. xoxoxo ♡

yes I am going places but unfortunately I still have not been where I want to go.

Yes I read but not as much as I should and yes I am fond of art.

Kitchen gardens are wonderful, all of those fresh vegetables and herbs, I don't have a vegetable garden here, I did at my previous house.

Lovely to hear from you again
take care
love Dianne xoxo ♡

Phossy dear, somehow I find that very hard to believe, I don't think you would do such a thing. :) xoxo ♡

Sir Percy , dear friend,
I like to love too and to be loved in return but so far that kind of completeness and happiness has eluded me. xoxoxo ♡

Wow! I'm tired just from reading your list. I'd like to wander over to the couch for awhile and explore the underside of my eyelids.

Oh Puggles my sweet, was it that boring and exhausting to read through my interests?
Of course I dont have all of these adventures in one day, they are spread out over many months, some are from years back.
I didn't mean to put you to sleep, enjoy your nap.

Thank you dear Crafstman of Light , that is such a lovely thing to say to me, YOU ARE WONDERFUL yourself, I don't think I have ever read anything as beautiful as your prose and poetry.

I just love 'junkin', most of my beloved bargain possessions have come from the shelves of antique shops, junk shops and I have found some really nice things at $2 shops and on 'sale' tables in department stores ... amazing what you can find.
