Vive Le Tour de France

Lake Annecy / Annecy-Semnoz Stage 20

Congratulations to all of the participants of Le Tour de France for your ability, strength and endurance, you all deserve to win.
I have been spending many evenings and early mornings in front of the television watching this wonderful event unfold...later today, Paris. I wish I could be there.
I have also marveled at the spectacular beauty of the landscape of France at every stage, especially the aerial footage of the forests with their magnificent trees, the green countryside, beautiful cows, The Pyrenees, the majesty of the Alps, in particular the Haute-Savoie region, Annecy and Annecy-Semnoz... so many places I would love to visit one day. There are some great video highlights and places of beauty to view at the official Le Tour website. Enjoy, if you have a chance.

A Gentle Heart

How gentle the one
Who nurtures love
For a heart that is broken
And lost its way
And guides this love
Over darkened paths
With a light that glows
From an inner warmth
To find its way
To a saddened heart
One that has hoped
For a chance to love
To mend and grow
And let love live ...

Was That You?

In the early hours of the morn
I felt your presence pass my way
Again I felt your warmth once more
At the start of yesterday
So close you were, yet far away
You left no message, you left no words
Was there nothing at all to say?
Two seasons have passed
Since you went away
In all of that time
I have looked for you each day
Amongst the branches of our tree
Hoping you would be there for me
No small folded letter left for me
I miss your friendship, I miss your words
I miss the closeness that we shared
Was that you in the silence of dawn?
Who came my way but did not stay.

A Dream Too Soon

Letting go of a dream
With regret in my heart
Watching it float away...

Was it a dream too soon?
Nor the right time for me
Or a hope too far away...

I hope the winds of time
Will change one day
And bring you back to me…
