First Flower

The first flower of Summer
Like the blush of new love
We know it's there waiting
Just to grow and burst forth.

And one day it delights us
With petals in full bloom
Like the love in our heart
It can't come too soon...

Summer? Look at your calendar! It is winter. What kind of upside down place do you live in anyway?

Thank you dearest Foamy , I'm pleased that you liked my little poem, I was going to post a photo of my 'first lily' of Summer but decided on the rose as it has a blush of pink and went with the poem...I am happy Foamy, good to let go of the past. ♡

The first snow of winter, that would make a lovely subject for a poem...you are certainly getting plenty of snow, I saw the US weather on the news and that photo you posted is beautiful...we could do with some cool here and thanks, no fires so far.
I was thinking of you last night and this morning, I hope the roads will be safe for you soon. ♡

Yes, dear Pete

it is well and truly Summer here, I think I would prefer to be born and live in the Northern Hemisphere where you have real seasons, I would love a white Christmas. ♡

Thanks dear HLiza
Yes First flowers are always lovely,I can imagine that you live in a very tropical climate with many exotic flowers and lots of Summer rain, yes the flowers love it, I'm hoping we get some rain soon as it is very dry here. ♡

All my roses have thrip. Still smell nice though. Does that apply to love too?

dianne said...

No thrip on my roses dear
J Cosmo
, well not as far as I can see... roses always have a lovely perfume.
I don't know that love itself has a fragrance, though I guess when one thinks of the one they love they have a fragrance of their own...I like to think of love as meadows of flowers and sparkling dew drops warmed by the morning sun. ♡

That's a very pretty flower. It's hard to believe that you're on the other side of the world and having a different season.

Very nice poetry, Dianne. And unlike me, you kept it short and elegant. I would have rambled on about fungus and aphids.

dianne said...

Thank you my sweet, I'm pleased that you enjoyed my little poem, yes I kept it short for that is all I had to say really.
I think my rose there might have some insect eating it, maybe it does has aphids? :) ♡

Very nice poetry, and love is like a flower, suddenly emerges and fades with time.
