Do You Remember?

I think of the memories
of words we have shared
The beauty of those words
the kindness exchanged
I have not forgot all the gifts 
that we gave, gifts from our hearts
Precious memories to save
A small folded letter placed in our tree
secured amongst the branches
Your kind words to me
A beautiful friendship
I thought we both shared
I opened my heart
to show you I cared
When you were lost
I helped you find your way
Out of the shadows
into the light of day
Of course it was given
with love and with care
For that's what friends do
they give and they share
But what am I to think now
you seem to have gone
For I don't feel you near me
Is all that we had, now come undone?
Have you forgotten all that has passed
have you forgotten me?
Your friend 'til the last
I will remember you, I won't forget
The only regret I hold in my heart
is that you have forgotten me
And now we are apart...

Yes it is very disappointing, you would think that friendships would be more enduring, but sadly there has been a misunderstanding, he has disappeared and I have no way of contacting him. I was hoping he would visit here but there is very little chance of that.
