Bittersweet Love

In the Springtime of our love
When everything was new
I loved you so dearly
And I hoped you loved me too
Your words were so tender
And bound me to you
Like a new bud blossoming
I opened my heart to you
Season after season
My love grew each day
And Flower after flower
My love blossomed for you
In every way ...
But somewhere along our journey
Your love faded away
Gone with winters coldness
You drew your love away
Now in winters darkness
I search for you each day
Along the path of loneliness
For you to light my way
But I cannot find you
Just memories of our love
Faded petals blown away
Lost symbols of my love
No more bright tomorrows
Oh bittersweet pain of love ...

  4. A beautiful declaration of love, sensitivity,
you amaze me more every day!
I like 'dancing in the rain', is like a double sense: besides beautiful, you always have to dance even though we are in a storm!

Have a nice weekend, my friend, your heart is always in an eternal spring and your heart will continue to speak through the words!

  10. My love never fades because I use the gentle wash cycle, mild detergent and no bleach. Then I avoid the dryer.

It would be far sweeter if love stayed and didn't leave at all, for parting is such sweet sorrow.

  36. Thank you Leovi dear friend, yes love and its flowers wilt and all we have left are memories...why does it have to be that way I wonder? Sometimes love fades before it has a chance to begin. I am pleased that you liked my poem, it was difficult to open up these feelings and write about them.

  37. Amiga Dianne.
