Did I Hear You ... ?

Did I hear you
Was that you ...

I thought I caught
a glimpse of you ...

As you slipped by me
you spoke not one word ...

In silence, not to be heard?

I felt your presence
I felt your warmth

I thought I could reach out
and touch you
as you came to earth ...

Just then
as I looked at the moonlight
was that you ... ?

Thought I heard you breathing
or was it my heart beating
from the closeness of you ...

Or just the breeze
like me sighing softly
as it moved through the leaves

Or perhaps it was
just a beautiful dream ... ?

  5. No,no, K9 dear friend,

    Not a 'horny' kangaroo,
    that just won't do
    only a sweet,romantic man
    will do ...

It is a romantic poem :) and was supposed to evoke thoughts of love and affection...and I thought or hoped it was one of my better poems. xo ♡

Very nice to see you, hope you are well?

  6. Thanks dearest Foamy

I'm happy that you thought my poem was lovely and sublime before you burst into laughter ... :) xo ♡

It was quite a serious poem, it came to me just before midnight last night, very strong feelings, I was drawn outside to the moonlight and to catch some coolness from the breeze and look at the moon, I thought I heard someone but it was just the breeze stirring the leaves..then the words came to me... so I wrote them down, it took me longer to find the image, then I posted both. ♡

To invoke , to call upon ... love and affection, all play a part in the mystery. xo ♡

  13. Words are often not sufficient ..but then again in the right hands they can be beyond

    sufficient.

    Cheers,

  14. Thanks dear painter

In this detached and sometimes impersonal world of the Internet sometimes words, as in a poem, are the only way one has to reach out to someone they care about and let them know that they are being thought of...one would hope that they might by chance visit and read the message and hopefully leave a message in return ... if not then I would guess the words were not sufficient and are wasted. xo ♡

  15. No Phossy dear,

If I thought it was a stalker I would have stayed inside...this presence was warm and friendly.
Maybe it was just my imagination, wishful thinking, it felt very real to me, who knows? xo ♡

  17. Lovely indeed. Like a wisp of memorie caught in the breeze that you couldn't catch in your hands. Though you wanted too, always your heart wishes to catch it. Wonderful poem Dianne! Loved it!

I'm pleased that you enjoyed my poem.

Actually it was like reliving a moment, it felt very real, something someone very close to my heart said to me, I could feel his presence, just as if I could reach out and touch him...
Maybe I was in his thoughts. xo ♡

  21. Everyone must have yelled at the moon sometime, must be in the blood from ancient times. If you live out in the woods without any city lights the moonlight could be bright as a day (ok a bit cloudy one).

  22. Hello M dear,
I don't think I have ever yelled at the moon but I have marvelled at its beauty and have certainly been captivated by it as I have bathed in its light.

Yes when you do live in the woods or near the forest and there is no interruption from street lighting the light from a full moon is magical as it touches everything with its brightness.
This was the case when I first came here, no street lights and very few houses, but I am still blessed with bright silvery nights, the nights of legend and of ancient times. xo ♡
