I picked some flowers for my love
Gently pressed them to my heart
Hoping he could feel the love
My gesture would impart
For he knows not how I miss him
Since he is far away
And how I count the hours
'Til his sunshine fills my day
I feel his warmth in the sunshine
That lights my meadow days
In the blue that paints the sky
And sweeps the clouds away
In the beauty of the flowers
That bright my every day
The warmth of his words
In my heart they shall stay…
