Flowers, Wishes and Sweet Meadow Days...

Dandelion wishes
They float far away
Bringing hopes of found happiness
In the new day
The fresh scent of marigolds
As sunshine warms the day
Flowers and fragrance
In sweet meadow days
Dreams of soft meadows
Where flowers delight
And all of the senses
Come to life…

  12. WHEN SOMETHING BAD HAPPENS

She walked up and down beside him
He closest to the edge of the cliff
With his legal papers under his arm

She turned and looked behind him
    Something had caught her attention
Then like a flash she twisted round

Her black handbag was on the grass
Her black coat waved in the breeze
His black portfolio over the edge

He was looking at her, staring
She was quizzically looking at him
Slowly shaking her head, once, twice

"I saw what happened!" a man arrived
"He tried to snatch your handbag!"
    "My camera... uhm, it's here...look"

He turned the camera toward them
    Pressing buttons frantically
Two people walked backwards like Chaplin

    Click... and they walked forwards
    Side by side they walked
She turned and looked behind him

    A man appears from nowhere
    Reaches out with his hand
Then topples over on one leg

    And falls
    down
    the
    cliff
    ...

    to his death.

  18. Thank you dear C.B. it is good to see you here once more, I thought you had disappeared again, it has been quite a while since your last poem or comment. I see many visitors from the U.K. on Feedjit but I am never sure that it is you.
Your poem is imaginative and visual but quite surreal, I hope it is a work of fiction and not related to a real experience in your life.
Charlie Chaplin certainly had a distinctive walk.
I hope that you are well? Take care dear one.

  20. The poem came from a strange dream I had this morning...

A few hours after I had posted it, I received a phone call from a local pet sanctuary to say they had found my little black and white cat Irenka. She had been run over by a car and was critically ill. I went to visit her and they said that she should be OK as the X-Ray only showed a broken pelvis and leg which could be set. I went to see her again this afternoon but she had passed away a few minutes before I got there. She was only two years old. I took her back home and wrapped her in her favorite blanket. She was my good friend during so many evenings alone. Laying on my chest on the sofa, she would put her nose up to mine and purr sweetly. I will miss her so much. So, I am not that strong at all. Take care, Dianne. Your writing is always positive, kind and builds one up. One good constant feature in my life. I love meadows. Laying on my back and listening to cow bells in alpine pastures or bees buzzing between flowers of lavandin. In fact, I hope to be riding south through Provence in July. Un de ces jours.

  22. Dearest C.B. , I sensed that something was wrong, the words of your poem are very dark. I am so sorry to hear that you have lost your sweet little Irenka, such a beautiful little cat, I know how much you love/loved her from what you had written about her in some of your posts. I know how much you will miss her, so very sad, your heart must be hurting. Good that you wrapped her in her favourite blanket. Your poem worried me last night, I was concerned for you and could not get to sleep. This may sound strange but I was thinking of little Irenka and what a comfort she must be to you.
Cats have a wonderful sense of how we are feeling and can comfort us when we are sad or down. Their little purrs, meows and squeaks are so lovely and soothing.
I don't know whether you ever read one of my replies where I told you of my youngest son rescuing a young black and white cat similar to Irenka when he was being hurt by some horrible youths, they were trying to burn him with a cigarette lighter. My son grabbed him and said that it was his cat and threatened to call the police, of course the cowards ran off. This poor little cat had obviously been abandoned, had been surviving on the street and was ill with cat flu. Andrew took him to the vet where she prescribed the medications he would require, antibiotics, vaccines etc.and since he was not micro-chipped had that done also. He is now about two years old. No-one claimed him so my son gave him a loving home but since his own circumstances have changed little 'Bob Biscuits' is now living with me. He is such an affectionate little fellow and very happy here with all of the love and affection I give him.
Please try to be strong and enjoy the beauty of the sunny meadows, the sweet scent of the grasses and flowers and songs of bees and the sound of cow bells...such a beautiful picture you paint with your words, how lovely that would be. Thank you for the beautiful image of the lavandin fields in Provence, so very sweet of you, the fragrance must be amazing.
I often wish you would send me an e-mail to let me know how you are and what is happening in your world, your latest adventures etc but I know you won't.
Take care dear one and enjoy your ride south to Provence, please come back soon.
Your dear and constant friend, Dianne.
