Feel My Heart ...

Perhaps you have gone
Gone once more
I will never understand
Why you have to leave
Leave me to wonder
I lose all hope …
Feel my heart
Feel the warmth of my affection
It will cross the void of distance
And travel through space
And the folds of time
Push the sky away
To finally reach you
You in your world
And I in mine
My words in the softest voice
Will assure you, tell you
That I care for you
I don’t want to change you
Or your life
Or ask you to make
Any changes for me
Just knowing you are there
Watching over me
Is all that I ask
There is more mystery
In the unfamiliar
The distance that separates us
And more poetry
In the words felt
But left unspoken ...

  2. SIGNS OF THE TIMES

    Almost tripping as she went
    She ran along the street
Up the stairs and to the left
Her destiny catching up to meet

    Flashing sunlight in her eyes
    Clutching her heart in pain
    Toward the cemetery she ran
Past a stop sign raised in vain

    A month or two before
The girls had run without care
Into the path of a giant
    Laughing flying wet hair

    With the past long gone
    Young girls married or died
The giant now stands in a museum
    His single raised hand tied

    To stop him falling over.

  5. Dear C.B. , thank you for this poem and the links. I thought you had gone once again and might not return, I am happy to see your words here.
I sense this poem is about Weronika and Véronique.
Weronika running down the street not taking notice of the stop sign, the statue of Lenin being carted down the street, that is symbolic of a change in the times and that of a giant who has fallen.
Weronika's hair becomes wet as she sings in the rain but I am missing something, I don't remember Véronique having wet hair.

The poem I had written "One Heart, One Hope" was also for you.

    Take care dear one.

  13. Dear C.B. , thank you once more for the links, I have had a chance to look at them more closely.
I see the stop sign where Weronika ran up the street, such a pretty ochre/yellow house and lovely flowers in the raised garden bed.
Rynek is also lovely, such a nice sunny day when the photos were taken.
The square, paved in stones is beautiful and the flower boxes, the shops and the people selling fruit and vegetables.
The whole surrounding area is lovely with its parks, churches, houses and trees.
We could learn a lot here from these beautiful spaces, so much nicer than a shopping centre with a car park covered in concrete. :)

  36. O valor das coisas não está no tempo que elas duram, mas na intensidade com que acontecem.
Por isso existem momentos inesquecíveis, coisas inexplicáveis e pessoas incomparáveis.(Fernando Sabino)
