From My Heart ...

I look to the sky
Watching my hopes
Drift away
As silently as the clouds
I look to the horizon
You are no longer there
I cannot feel your presence
Either close by
Or watching from afar
I don’t understand
Your absence or your silence
The warmth of you
And your words
No more
I think of your friendship
For what it was and for
What is was not
It was enough
For once long ago
I had dreams of more
With no expectations
Of you ever caring for me
But I understood
It could never be more
I dared to say how I felt
Honestly and innocently
From my Heart
Was that wrong of me?
For now I am left
Feeling confused, alone
And completely lost
And missing you so much
And I don’t recall you
Saying "Goodbye"...

YEAR AFTER MONTH AFTER WEEK

I'm sitting here alone
My back against the bed
I hear the wind outside
Whispering words I'd said

Did I really say those words
Or was it my imagination?
Did I cross from that street
Or was it my mind's creation?

No, wait, wait just a minute
I don't remember going there
Year after month after week
I must have stayed right here

How many times did I sit
A glass in my hand in the V & A?
Whispering to one of the statues
The words that I wanted to say?

The girl with the pearl earring
I think we looked eye to eye
Tell me, was she about to smile
Or like me, was she about to cry?

I went into the empty music room
And propped myself by the piano
Looked at the chandelier above
Felt the gold wallpaper and no...

It wasn't to be my evening at all
It never is, I just don't belong
The thing is, I used to be able
To tell right from wrong

Now I just wander on my own
In and out of rooms at will
Touching the edges of paintings
Reminding me of the past still

And then I stop and think
I hear the floorboard creak
Haven't I been here before
Year after month after week?

Pour Dianne

Dearest C.B. , this is such a lovely and welcome surprise,I thought you had gone forever, since I have not heard from you in over a month.
You seem to have changed your browser and operating system.
Thank you for this most beautiful, reflective and moving poem.
Please don't be sad, you are not alone, you do belong and always will wherever you may be.
Your sensitivity sets you apart from most other men and whether you are at the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Tate Modern or here, your presence is always wanted.
Why would you ever feel you don't belong?
I hope you are well? Take care dear one.

Love and hugs, Dianne.

Thank you dear Yannis for your most beautiful words and encouragement, you are very kind to me.
If I were to describe myself, I would say that I am the eternal vessel of hope and optimism, an enduring romantic even when all of the odds are against my success of ever finding true love and happiness.

Kind regards and best wishes to you and your family.

Hello dear Pugsley it is so lovely to find you here again, you are probably surprised to see that I am still blogging, it surprises me.
I wouldn't feel too disappointed if a UFO doesn't land, I don't think the aliens would give you a warm and loving welcome.
