Sweet Spring Returns

Sweet Spring has returned
with her gentle grace
An ageless beauty
with her fairest face
She lights the sky
with pastel hues
A palette of white
and softest blues
She dresses the meadows
with flowers fair
Sweet fragrance and colour
everywhere
A warm anticipation
fills the air
As she weaves her touch of beauty
for all to share
She breathes new life
into sleeping trees
Soon to blossom
with new buds and leaves
Her gentle hand of beauty imbued
ensures the cycle of life again, renewed...

  8. Thank you dearest Foamy for your kind words. Yes spring looks promising, there is this wonderful feeling of freshness in the air and soft fragrances from a few of my plants that are flowering, freesias mostly. My marigolds have sadly died, I will have to plant some more. The calendulas have no buds yet but I am hopeful...I hope to post some photos in the future.
I hope that you have a wonderful Fall and that you are well little sweet pea! :)

  17. Apparently she makes the rounds. I've seen her in these parts too. I have trust issues with a lady who seems to come and go with the seasons.

  33. Thank you dear Leovi , yes, the beauty of Spring is ageless, she returns to us fresh and new each year.
Though we must grow old there is still beauty in maturity; it may have faded and lost its youthful bloom but beauty just the same because if we are good our inner beauty lives on and is ageless.
    Besos.

  35. The Dark Swallows Will Return

    The dark swallows will return
to hang their nests on your balcony
and, with their wing at its window panes,
they will call again for the fun of it.

But those who used to slow their flight
to contemplate your beauty and my joy,
    those who learned our names…
    those ones… will not return!

The dense honeysuckle of your garden
will return to climb the walls
and in the evening, even more beautiful,
    its flowers will open again.

But those beads (lit: curds) of dew
whose drops we used to watch trembling
and falling like tears of the day…
    those… will not return!

Ardent words of love will return
    to sound in your ears,
    your heart will perhaps awaken
    from its deep sleep.

But mute and captivated and kneeling
as one worships God before His altar,
how I have loved you… stop fooling yourself,
nobody will love you like that.

    Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer

    Besos.

  38. Oh thank you dear friend Leovifor this most beautiful poem of Bécquer, so sweet and thoughtful of you to share it here.
I don't know why I have not read it before, now it shall be a favourite of mine.
How I wish I could write a poem with such beauty.
His writing is so romantic, visual and filled with emotion, one can almost smell the scent of the honeysuckle on the evening air and see the dew drops, I can certainly feel the emotion in his words, it reminds me of so much I have forgotten.
I hope my swallows return, they have left early this Spring.
