The Heart That Gives

Perhaps my heart shall never be wrapped in the raiments of another's love again
It is not the end
It is but a passing sadness that must be endured for a time
Life goes on
Others shall live days
That I will never see
Or be a part of
The flowers of the field live on in all their wondrous beauty
Indifferent to the need for love
And the heart that gives
But does not receive
Loses nothing
It lives on
For it finds its own happiness
In its abilty to give....

  5. Today I thought of you. I was outside, barefoot when it started to rain. It's been so hot and muggy that I stayed outside in it and just enjoyed the rain for a bit ... Until a huge deluge followed a clap of thunder...and lightening. We've had some doozy of storms. They are beautiful unless theyntopple a tree, of course. Anyways, just thought I'd let you know that I thought of you.

This is a lovely poem, Dianne. I like the giving aspect of it.
It seems to have an onward, forward feel to it too.

  11. Thank you dearest friend Foamy for thinking of me, I have missed you.
It is lovely to walk barefoot on the grass during a summer shower, very refreshing from the heat but not good when thunder and lightning threatens.
We have had very high winds here over the last couple of days, I was concerned that I might have some trees topple. Thankfully they are still standing.
I am pleased that you liked this prose and its expression of giving. Yes, it does have a forward feel to it, time to let go of sadness.
    Take care little sweet pea!

  24. Giga dear thank you for your comment. Yes, we all need love, flowers need some care to blossom but the wildflowers seem to manage on their own.
    Warm greetings
