Memories of flowers
I gathered just for you
In your darkest hours
I cared for you
I reached out to help you
And show you the way
To light your direction
To the path of better days
To show you there was hope
Beyond the shadows and the gray
To lift the clouds of sadness
And take the darkness away
To fill your heart with sunshine
And melt the cold away
To help you find the happiness
You thought lost and gone away
And with the kindest heart
Breathe new life into your days ...

    As usual I enjoyed your beautiful poetry, but I'm confused. Did you gather MEMORIES of flowers, or actual flowers?

    The reason I ask, is because anyone can tell me that they gathered memories of something. And I'd have to believe them.

    Maybe they would be telling the truth; but for all know, they forgot to gather actual flowers until it was too late.

    I'm just hoping I don't get a Secret Santa* (* sorry, I'm about to turn in, and am too tired to explain what a Secret Santa is, but you can Google it) this year who claims they are giving me memories instead of an actual, returnable-for-store-credit item.

    Thank you Pugsly my sweet, for your lovely comment, I am pleased that you enjoy my poetry.

    I did actually gather flowers for someone I cared for very much when he was going through a very difficult time in his life. Not only flowers but words of support and kindness to show that he was not alone in his sadness.
    My poem is actually about the memories these flowers evoked, why I gathered the flowers for this man whom I still care for and the time when it all took place. Yes, I did gather flowers not just memories.

    Yes, my sweet I do know what Secret Santa is, usually a disappointment as many people are too miserable to buy a nice gift.
    I always bought something nice, so you would not have to return my gift at the store.
