Love is a Garden

Love is a garden
Where happiness grows
From the hopes that we planted
And the seeds that were sown
Love blooms like flowers
And opens our hearts
To the beauty that surrounds us
And soon fills our hearts
With the wonders of life
And a beauty profound
The birds sing more sweetly
In the branches of trees
The leaves sing their song
In the soft morning breeze
The flowers are more lovely
When we take the time to feel
A tapestry of petals
Where the flowers grow
Woven with their fragrance
In the sunshine's morning glow
Love is a garden
Where grows a tree of life
Where wishes are granted
And dreams realised ...

Prose by Dianne Dawes ... ♥

Painting "Morning Sunshine" with kind permission from the artist Karen Fields.
Thank you Karen for sharing your beautiful painting to accompany my prose.

  1. very, very lovely, dianne! i love this analogy. i love the art you found to go with it. i did click on Karen's site. She has a lovely blog and lovely artwork.
of course, we know that a garden needs a lot of tending to, otherwise it just withers or is overgrown with undesirable schtuff.

have a wonderful cool weekend! it's blazingly hot here .. :-)

This is so beautiful poem, dear Dianne.
One thing I am sure, when you sow so much love, much peace and joy and love in your garden as you do,
you can only collect the same but doubled!

  8. Thank you Foamy dearest friend for your lovely comment. I am so pleased that you enjoyed my prose. Yes, an unusual concept but love can be many things and found in many places ... and just like a garden it must be nurtured and allowed to grow from the first time we are aware of its existence or inception.
I was so fortunate to have Karen give me permission to use her beautiful painting, it is just perfect.

I am sorry it is so hot there, we have had some cold, wet miserable days but today has been sunny and a pleasant 19ºC; the nights are very cold so lots of bed covers.
I hope it cools down for you soon, I don't want my little sweet pea wilting! :-)
