I sowed the seeds of love
I sowed them in the Spring
I gathered them up in the morning so soon
When the small birds so sweetly sing
When the small birds so sweetly sing
The gardener was standing by
I asked him to choose for me
He chose for me the violet, the lily and the pink
But those I refused all three
But those I refused all three
The violet I did not like
Because it bloomed so soon
The lily and the pink I really over-think
So I thought I would wait till June
So I thought I would wait till June
In June there was a red rose bud
That is the flower for me
I often time have plucked the red rose bud
Till I gained the willow tree
Till I gained the willow tree
The willow tree will twist
The willow tree will twine
Oftentimes I've wished I was in the young man's
arms
Who once had the heart of mine
Who once had the heart of mine
I sowed the seeds of love
I sowed them in the Spring
I gathered them up in the morning so soon
When the small birds so sweetly sing
When the small birds so sweetly sing
I sowed them in the Spring
I gathered them up in the morning so soon
When the small birds so sweetly sing
When the small birds so sweetly sing
The gardener was standing by
I asked him to choose for me
He chose for me the violet, the lily and the pink
But those I refused all three
But those I refused all three
The violet I did not like
Because it bloomed so soon
The lily and the pink I really over-think
So I thought I would wait till June
So I thought I would wait till June
In June there was a red rose bud
That is the flower for me
I often time have plucked the red rose bud
Till I gained the willow tree
Till I gained the willow tree
The willow tree will twist
The willow tree will twine
Oftentimes I've wished I was in the young man's

Who once had the heart of mine
Who once had the heart of mine
I sowed the seeds of love
I sowed them in the Spring
I gathered them up in the morning so soon

When the small birds so sweetly sing

/t.
beautiful song!
ReplyDeleteyour garden must be lovely right now...
may you have a peaceful weekend, dianne ..
and a merry christmas ..
I may have run across that lady in my local gardening center. With my cart. She was annoying there as well.
ReplyDeleteNo dear Phos , not seedy love, but the seeds of love planted in ones heart to flourish and grow; what could be more lovely. ♥
ReplyDeleteYes dear /t. with a voice so beautiful as hers, methinks I could easily win the heart of a gentle man. ♥
ReplyDeleteThank you also for your Christmas wishes, I left some for you and yours over at mo'po. ♥♥♥♥
Thank you dearest Foamie it is a beautiful song, I have a few more pleasant surprises before Christmas. ♥
ReplyDeleteI see you have read my Christmas message that I left for you at your blog, thanks again for your friendship. ♥
Some of the flowers in my garden are delightful at the moment, like the stephanotis, gardenias and lilies but I have such a lot of weeding to do.
As for the garden in my heart and the seeds of love planted there, well they are suffering from lack of interest and sustenance. ♥
Puggles my sweet, please dont tell me that you are one of those people who are always running into peoples heels with your trolley. ♥
ReplyDeleteI always find the garden centre a most pleasant place to visit, one of the the few highlights in my life. ♥
So I am presuming that you did not enjoy this song from Loreena and if you see her at the garden centre she had better get out of your way. ♥
Okay, I'll fess up. I have no beef with Loreena. She has a very sweet voice. It's those SUV-driving, cellphone talking, indecisive checkout line clogging menaces at MY local gardening centers to whom I was referring. I hope this clears up any misunderstanding, gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteOh Puggles my sweet,no misunderstanding, you dont have to like her, shes just one of my favourites.
ReplyDeleteI know exactly what you mean about those kind of people in the checkout line, I'm sure they dont do it on purpose, some just live in their own little world; and as soon as some step into a supermarket or garden centre their brains seem to shut down.
I think it comes down to too many choices...so one has to be patient. Patience is a virtue. ♥♥
