"If the day and the night are such that you greet them with joy,
and life emits a fragrance like flowers and sweet-scented herbs
--that is your success."

  4. I started to read "Walden's Pond" once, but couldn't get past the thought that Thoreau had WAY too much time on his hands. The Thoreau of today might be spotted at a large indoor mall; writing observations about all of the shoppers in his journal, and perhaps getting harassed by mall security. He sure was thorough, though.

  7. Foamie my dearest, how true. I measure success by the simple things in my life, those that bring me happiness, love and friendship. ♥

I haven't quite reached internal contentment yet or complete fulfilment but I'm getting there.

I do however look at the things in life that I do have and value, like family and friends and consider myself fortunate.♥ xoxox :)

  8. Yes Puggles my sweet, "Walden's Pond" is a big read and requires concentration, which I was lacking at the time. ♥ xoxox
Yes Thoreau did seem to have a lot of time on his hands for his observations of people and I should think today he might be arrested for loitering should he sit there studying passers by.
Yes my love he was 'thorough'. :)
