FIELDS OF GOLD - STING

You'll remember me when the west wind moves
Upon the fields of barley
You'll forget the sun in his jealous sky
As we walk in fields of gold

So she took her love
For to gaze awhile
Upon the fields of barley
In his arms she fell as her hair came down
Among the fields of gold

Will you stay with me, will you be my love
Among the fields of barley
We'll forget the sun in his jealous sky
As we lie in fields of gold

See the west wind move like a lover so
Upon the fields of barley
Feel her body rise when you kiss her mouth
Among the fields of gold...
I never made promises lightly
And there have been some that I've broken
I swear in the days still left
We'll walk in fields of gold
We'll walk in fields of gold...

Many years have passed since those summer days
Among the fields of barley
See the children run as the sun goes down
Among the fields of gold
You'll remember me when the west wind moves
Upon the fields of barley
You can tell the sun in his jealous sky
When we walked in fields of gold
When we walked in fields of gold
When we walked in fields of gold...

Lyrics and song performed by Sting

I had difficulty finding a nice video at YouTube to go with this song, which is one of my favourites. I'm sorry that the song finishes a few seconds short of the end. :) xoxox

ah well, such is the tube.

Still nice, though.

Sorry, beautiful, but I'm not a fan of Sting's solo work. He's too drippy and pretentious on his own (perhaps like Yours Truly). I'm more of a Police Pug (especially their punkier, reggae-er stuff)! He needed Stewart Copeland and Andy Summers to balance him out. I am, however, a HUGE fan of barley.

It is nice Boney, shame they cut off the last few seconds of the song. When I bought the CD many years ago I had lovely images and visions to go with that song; would love to go out into the countryside if I had a video camera and do my own version. :) xoxox

Yes Puggles my love, he is drippy, thats why I didn't post a video here of him singing the song,it really lacked imagination. Yes I am a Police fan too,I like many of their songs-I just like this particular song, something about the lyrics touched me. :) xoxox

Phos dear, its worth a listen, yes we all have our favourites,I like some of his other songs as well. :) xoxox

when you take your camera out, don't forget to leave your clothes behind.

(no...now, be nice, boneman!)

About what you said earlier?
If you go around to all the places I go, you'll see I try to be nice, polite, and courteous to everyone.
Not any one person....
because I'm just like that.

In fact, I can only think of one person I'm not nice to, and really, I don't give a rat's behind for him.

Everyone else is truly tops somehow.
You included.

Leave my clothes behind? Now theres a thought, might stop traffic with my curves & perky bits but then again I might get arrested.

I'm always polite and I love talking to people, you meet the nicest folks when you take the time to listen.

Thanks Boney, I think you are truly tops as well. :) xoxoxo
